Pact of Silence Episodes 11 to 18 Review: Brenda’s Quest from Revenge to Redemption Ends on a Disappointing Note

Pact of Silence Episodes 11 to 18 Review: The Mexican Mystery drama Series Pacto De Silencio is directed by Carlos Villegas Rosales and produced by Mariana Iskandarani. The series stars Camila Valero as Brenda Rey, Kika Edgar as Irene Bustamante, Adriana Louvier as Fernanda Alarcón, Marimar Vega as Martina Robles, Litzy as Sofía Estrada, José Manuel Rincón as Adriano, Martín Barba as Alex, Erick Chapa as Rodrigo Chantal Andere as Ramona Castro and others.

The series has 18 episodes with a runtime ranging from 35 to 44 minutes, respectively. It has also been released with English, Arabic, Portuguese, and more language subtitles for international audiences. Additionally, English, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, and more dubbed audio will also be available to make it more accessible to a wide variety of viewers. So, there’s a lot of drama and quite a few plot twists to get through. Also, plenty of crime and some deaths.

Pact of Silence Episodes 11 to 18 Review

This ongoing series kicks off on a strong note, instantly grabbing viewers’ attention with a captivating story. The first episodes are filled with a gripping plotline that pulls you in, hinting at an exciting journey ahead. However, as the series unfolds, it veers off course, straying from its original path and, in the end, leaving the audience a bit let down. While it does a great job at building suspense, it tends to overdose on melodrama, dulling the edge of the revenge plot. Instead, it morphs into a story about a fractured family rediscovering their connection and finding their way back to each other.

Brenda’s revelation about her mother, which was held until the very last episode, absolutely caught me off guard. She sobbed uncontrollably while clutching them as if she had finally accepted that they had abandoned her and everything had been a great mistake. Didn’t she already know about this? And why did she choose the route of revenge if she only wanted to find out who her mother was? It was known right away that the mother who gave birth to her was only 16 years old, and not many women are prepared to take on that level of responsibility at such a young age.

I held onto the hope until the very end that we would learn the story behind Brenda’s rise to fame and fortune. It’s been widely mentioned that she boasts a staggering ten million followers, despite having spent a significant portion of her life on the streets and even enduring time in a juvenile centre for rehabilitation. Even the love angle between Brenda and César didn’t show a lot of chemistry and just felt like two broken people fell in love just after she got to know who her real heater was.

The romantic entanglement between Brenda and César is a subplot that falls short of expectations. Their relationship lacks the fiery chemistry one might anticipate, and instead, it feels like two wounded souls finding solace in each other. This connection blooms shortly after Brenda learns the truth about her hater who was trying to stop her from taking revenge.

One thing that you will admire till the end will be the friendship and love that the 4 potential mothers had for each other. We saw Brenda’s relentless efforts to sow discord, but they stood firm together till the very end. No matter the personal struggles they faced, there wasn’t a single instance when any of the four let the others down. This truly underscores the deep meaning behind the Pact they made back in their school days.

Pact of Silence Netflix Series Review Final Thoughts

This long series embarks on a promising journey but loses its way in the midst of a convoluted plot. It excels in suspense-building but drowns the narrative in excessive melodrama. There is no doubt that the performance from the lead actress and supporting cast was stellar. While certain revelations and character dynamics hold poignant moments, there are narrative threads left dangling, leaving the viewer with a sense of unfulfilled potential.

However, the series is redeemed by the powerful portrayal of enduring friendship and love, serving as a poignant reminder of the strength found in unity. This is a good watch for anyone who loves melodrama, but don’t expect too much if you are someone who loves revenge series, because you will be disappointed with the ending.
