Jennie You and Me Performance Video

The highly awaited official release of BLACKPINK Jennie’s solo single You and Me is finally upon us. Among one of the A-list releases of October 6, 2023, this single is what BLINKs have been waiting to officially come out ever since the South Korean rapper performed it at the group’s Born Pink World Tour. While the other members of the group released their solo bits as part of their eventual solo EP premieres, the Jennie solo track was late to follow the train. But better late than never!

GIDLE I Want That

Leading the quintet’s new English-EP titled Heat, I Want That shows (G)I-DLE members own up to their camp dancing musical identity with a heavy bassline, which soon takes a dark and bloody turn in the music video’s storyline. High on beats that’ll consume your memory even right after the first listen itself, the song would be perfect for fashion shows. But it’s clear that the song is likely to receive mixed responses, especially since the group has dug its feet into an eccentric experiment with this EP that has its song-writing credits listed under the names of several different producers and artists like OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder and Meghan Trainor.

Unlike their previous projects, this English mini album isn’t one of their self-produced EPs, hence the new sound and musical output. All in all, it’s a fun addition to their discography even if it slightly deviates from what their music has sounded like so far. Other 4 tracks on the (G)I-DLE Heat album are I Do, Eyes Roll, Flip It, and Tall Trees.

NCT 127 Fact Check Album

NCT 127 members continue to race through their futuristic, neo-powered dystopia in the title track music video for their 5th full-length album of the same name. Following 2 Baddies and Ay-Yo, Fact Check is musically again a testament to the group’s maverick soundscape in the K-pop arena. Firmly holding on to their signature head-banging beat, this time, the nonet has infused a hard-hitting synth loop of Afrobeats.

Much like how the lyrics of the song declare, you can go “check the facts” , and they’ll all speak in favour of the boy group’s confidence. It further fuels the members’ desire to stand tall as trendsetters by swaying away from the mainstream plan of action and staying consistent with their “noise music” brand that has taken the shape of one-of-a-kind harmony in itself now.

The Seoul-based unit of NCT, traverses the various landscapes of the South Korean capital in their latest Fact Check music video. Including the leading single, the album consists of a total of 9 tracks – Fact Check, 무중력 (Space), Parade (행진), Angel Eyes, Yacht, Je Ne Sais Quoi, 별의 시 (Love is a beauty),  소나기 (Misty) and Real Life.

BEYBLADE X OST aespa Zoom Zoom (Japanese)

The new anime soundtrack by the SM Entertainment girl group is right up the quartet’s alley, especially with their musical concept hinging on hyperpop and metaverse themes. Zoom Zoom blasts off a hyper chorus and overall soundscape with disruptive music effects, much like song released by the aespa members on their own albums as well. The bridge accentuates their sweet vocals and then again breaks for the smashing tune to take over. The latest up-tempo track isn’t merely aespa’s first-ever Japanese anime OST, but also the group’s first Japanese single. Karine, Giselle, Winter and NingNing had previously also released the opening theme song We Go for Pocket Monsters: Liko and Roy’s Departure in Korea.

IVE Off the Record MV

Releasing the second pre-release track for their upcoming album I’ve Mine, the IVE members have this time taken the mellow road instead. In what sounds like an easy-breezy appetiser for the album coming ahead, Off the Record takes a sweet detour from what the group’s instantly addicting title tracks sound like, and that in itself also works as a small win too because fans can easily consume this tune that’s easy on the ears, and also retains its charm in the meantime.

DPR IAN Don’t Go Insane MV

Bringing Halloween fever home before the spooky celebration hits our calendars later this month, the Australia singer based in South Korea has unleashed aesthetic chaos with his cinematic Don’t Go Insane music video, which leads his latest EP titled Dear Insanity… with supernatural colours. The nightmarish visions of the MV illustrate false realities. Christian Yu’s distinctly deep and unique vocals make for the best complementary addition to this enjoyable mayhem his new video is.

The new DPR Ian Dear Insanity mini album has 7 tracks – Famous Last Words, Welcome to the Other Side, Don’t Go Insane, Bad Cold, So I Dance, Peanut Butter and Tears, and Violet Crazy. The track names alone further consolidate that the entire EP is about Ian’s struggle with his several alter egos, while the he maintains the idea that he’s still sane.
