Arthdal Chronicles Season 2 Episode 5 Recap

Arthdal Chronicles The Sword of Aramun episode 5 begins with Tanya’s announcement about Aramun being an Igutu and changing the purple blood into something that is now sacred. Following this, the crowd cheers and praises the high priestess but soon Tagon falls unconscious due to blood loss.

Now, it is a task for the people of Arthdal to accept the worship of purple blood and that the king whom they serve is an Igutu. However, change does not come easy but as these are the words of Tanya, they are slowly accepting it without much questions. But their thoughts flow into Tanya’s ears and there is no way to stop this.

On the other hand, Tagon suffers the physical pain from his wounds as well as the mental stress as his father’s words come rushing back to him while his purple blood flows in front of everyone. Back at Aramun’s tomb, Tanya remembers the words passed to her, filled with ridicule towards her preaching of calling everyone the descendent of Asa Sin; thus, making her understand that it is the people’s voice which becomes the god’s voice.

Suddenly, she sees a bird inside the cave and follows it to the tomb’s lid which later is seen holding the last words of Aramun that Tanya calls the last prophecy from him. The oracle says that when his sword is revealed, the real Aramun will know his mission. The ministers who witness this later speak of how easily Tanya has guided everyone with her words and the power that she holds.

Meanwhile, Taealha visits her son but seeing his gratefulness towards Tanya, she reminds him that the path of the King is one where he is not supposed to be grateful but doubt anything that is done for them. Later, Eunseom meets Tanya who tells him that she revealed the truth about Aramun because Eunseom is an Igutu.

Eunseom has to become Aramun because the biggest tragedy on this land has been Aramun and Inaishingi, thus, when one person becomes them both, there can be peace. Now, it is Eunseom’s mission to find a way in which both sides can accept that he is both Aramun and Inaishingi. With this, the two part ways as Eunseom promises Tanya that he will be back.

On the other hand, Saya part ways with the Neanthals as they hand him the heirloom passed on in his father’s family. It had been carried on by two Neanthal brothers who parted ways before promising to meet each other and recognise each other with the heirloom in his hand.

However, right after parting ways, Saya meets trouble and is saved by the Neanthal brothers who recognise that the attackers speak their language and is an Igutu. The man then points at the heirloom around Saya’s neck and calls him their god Ikomahis, which surprises everyone present there.

He then whispers something in Saya’s ear and dies when Saya sees something tied around his wrist which almost resembles his heirloom. He then remembers the Great Gochiju Rock in Arthdal to which Aramun’s statue points which looks similar to the man’s token. This is heard by a man nearby who passes on the news to his fellow mate who is surprised to hear the word Ikomahis.

Back in Arthdal, Taealha comes to Tanya to figure out how she found out about Tagon being an Igutu and it doesn’t take long for her to understand that Tanya got this information just some time back. She quickly comes to the conclusion that it was Eunseom who told her about this and rushes to find him.

However, Tanya is not one to sit back as she sends someone to tell Dalsae to leave immediately while requesting Yangcha to help her out this time. Elsewhere, Eunseom makes preparations for “Saya” to leave for the frontlines and decides to leave after visiting the king. There, he sees Tagon hallucinating and telling him that their blood should never be shown for those who see it must be killed.

Tagon loses consciousness again and before Eunseom can do anything, Yangcha arrives and tells him to leave as soon as possible. Eunseom does so but is called by the queen; this is seen by Nunbyeol who follows them to see what is happening. Taealha then makes Eunseom unconscious and sneaks him to the Fortress of Fire while Nunbyeol spreads the news to Saya’s men and to Dalsae.

The news is soon passed to Tanya, while Yeolson and some others find out that it is Eunseom who has been in Arthdal this whole time. They then begin to think about ways to save Eunseom and get him out of Arthdal, while on the other hand, Taealha is all ready to torture Eunseom and find out how he knew about Tagon being an Igutu.

Eunseom is surprised by this but goes along and soon escapes, however, Taealha receives the news soon and sends her people to capture him. However, she is soon asked to go to the palace as Tagon’s hallucination is making him worse and creating trouble.

Near the Ago Tribe camp, the tribe heads are causing trouble after the disappearance of the Inaishingi while Tachukan is trying to calm them down. Meanwhile, Mirusol is trying her best to find Eunseom and succeeds in her efforts when she spots Saya in the forest. This surprises Saya and Chaeeun as they understand that they have mistaken Saya for their Inaishingi.

Back in Arthdal, Yeolson brings Eunseom outside of Arthdal and tells him to never come back. However, listening to Eunseom’s words about returning with the Ago, he shows Eunseom the harsh reality of the iron sword that he will need to face if he carries on with his ambition.

Eunseom is shocked when he sees the iron sword and sees his ambition shake as he is asked to take the sword to his people and make them back off. As the rain pours down on him, Yungcha arrives behind him to get rid of the trouble that Eunseom would bring to Tanya.

With the iron sword in his hand, Eunseom fights back and soon sees the damage his sword does to the bronze sword used by Yangcha. This shocks them both but the duel continues until lighting strikes; first the tree near them and next on Eunseom’s sword. Soon, a lighting scar is left on Eunseom’s right arm as well as on the sword used by him.

However, this does not stop the duel as Yungcha pushes Eunseom down the cliff only to see his eyes glow purple as he climbs back up and pushes Yangcha down. But Eunseom does not let him die and pulls him back up before taking his sword and declaring that this sword is now Aramun’s sword and his sword.

With the lightning pattern running down the sword and onto his arm, he tells Yangcha that this is the price having saved his life as Yangcha now needs to pass the message that this is Aramun’s sword to Tanya. He also tells him that he has now accepted the mission that will become the Inaishingi as well as Aramun, and with this, he puts the sword into the tree.

Arthdal Chronicles Season 2 Episode 5 Review

Arthdal Chronicles The Sword of Aramoon episode 5 has brought a big twist this weekend as Tanya creates oracles and Eunseom makes them come true. However, another historical character appears today and they go by the name Ikomahis.

This episode has brought a lot of new information to us and we will begin with Saya’s heirloom which resembles the mirror that he is supposed to be. The heirloom really does look like the heavenly object that has been spoken about and it will be intriguing how this revelation would come about.

Meanwhile, I hope that the legend of the sword actually exists because while Tanya and Saya have an actual object, Eunseom has only made one right now. On the other hand, it looks like a tyrant is here as we can see that Tagon has really lost it going forward and this won’t be a pleasure for many.

Altogether, the show is keeping me on the edge and I cannot wait for what is to come next!
