My Happy Marriage (My Blissful Marriage) or Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon (わたしの幸せな結婚) is a new anime series that premiered on Netflix on July 5, 2023. With its finale episode airing on September 20, 2023, the fans are wondering if there will be My Happy Marriage Season 2. Let us find out!
Based on the light novel of the same name written by Akumi Agitogi and illustrated by Tsukiho Tsukioka, it also has a manga adaptation illustrated by Rito Kohsaka. The live-action film adaptation of the fantasy series was released in Japan in March 2023. Following the story of Miyo, who enters an arranged marriage with a ruthless commander, officially got its own anime series announced to be directed by Takehiro Kubota under Kinema Citrus Studios. Ami Satō, Takahito Ōnishi and Momoka Toyoda are credited as the writers, and Evan Call gives the music.
Licensed under Netflix, the series is scheduled to run for 13 episodes. With an estimated duration of 20-25 minutes each, the episodes are available in English dub and subtitles. The opening theme song is Anata no Soba ni (貴方の側に。, “By Your Side”) by Riria and the ending theme song, Vita Philosophica (ヰタ・フィロソフィカ), is performed by Kashitarō Itō.
My Happy Marriage Season 1 Recap
In My Happy Marriage Season 1, the two main characters, Miyo Saimori and Kiyoka Kudo, were introduced. We quickly understand the situation that Miyo grew up in, which was deplorable. She constantly got abused by her father, stepmother and step-sister for not possessing any supernatural power. However, one day her father decided to get her married to a ruthless commander and the head of the Kudo household, Kiyoka.
But when they spend time with each other, Miyo realises that Kiyoka is a rather loving and warm person. Gradually they started to grow closer to each other and got engaged. However, their problems weren’t finished, as Miyo started to have nightmares which disrupted her sleep. Kiyoka had no other option but to seek Arata’s help, from whom he found out that he was Miyo’s cousin and she belonged to the Usuba family. They also find out that Miyo’s powers were sealed off by her mother because she was afraid the Saimoris would exploit her.
Miyo and Kiyoka are separated for some time. During that time, Miyo awakens her power, and Kiyoka is off fighting monsters. However, he gets injured in the field and goes into a deep sleep. That is when Miyo arrives and saves him. After that, they lead a happy life together in the Kudo household.

Will There Be My Happy Marriage Season 2?
The fans of the show can rejoice as the anime has been renewed for a second season! The news has been officially made through the official X (formerly Twitter) account that the second season is in production. It is possible that the new season will be released by end of next year.
