With the premiere of the new season, the anime community has been rejoicing in the return of the anime. Although they are excited to welcome back their favourite protagonists, the fans are equally ecstatic about the prime antagonists. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 villains are some of the most unique characters in shonen anime right now, which makes them stand out from the rest.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 (呪術廻戦 or Sorcery Fight) premiered on July 7, 2023. Written and illustrated by Gege Akutami, the show is directed by Sunghoo Park and is animated under MAPPA Studio. With Sayaka Koiso and Tadashi Hiramatsu designing the characters, Yoshimasa Terui is the sole composer of the series. The anime is scheduled for two cours, the first five episodes will adapt the manga’s Hidden Inventory Arc, and the eighteen other episodes will showcase the Shibuya Incident arc. Meanwhile, King Gnu performed the OP, Specialz, for the Shibuya Incident arc.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Villains Ranked

7. Hanami

Hanami is an unregistered special grade spirit aligned with Mahito’s group. The curse was created out of a dread of land-based natural disasters and a desire to purge humanity from the planet for their abuse of the environment. What makes Hanami one of the most powerful antagonists is his incredible durability, enhanced speed and strength. Moreover, he has a hidden presence which makes him different from other cursed spirits.

Additionally, his innate techniques prove how he can be a magnificent roadblock for Jujutsu sorcerers. At times he can even be more powerful than Jogo, as stated by Gege Akutami himself. Only when Yuji and Todo joined forces, were they able to injure Hanami in the slightest.

6. Choso

Choso is an incarnated Death Painting Womb, who is a half-cursed spirit and half-human. With the flesh and blood of a human, even non-sorcerers can see him. Choso is a blood manipulator, who is able to convert his curse energy into blood and is able to manipulate it. However, he does not have the weakness of losing blood like other shamans and cannot die of blood loss. Moreover, he has multiple techniques through which he can quickly and effectively dismantle an enemy.

5. Jogo

Jogo might be one of the most powerful special-grade cursed spirits. During a conversation with Geto, it is revealed that he is as powerful as Sukuna’s 7-8 fingers. He believes that cursed spirits are the true rulers and wishes to dominate the world. He was born of humanity’s fear and negative association with volcanoes and other fire-related natural disasters. While Jogo proved no match for overwhelming powers like Satoru Gojo and Sukuna, he still far outclassed even the most talented sorcerers and other special-grade curses.

4. Toji Fushiguro

Known as the Sorcerer Killer, Toji was one of the best fighters in the history of jujutsu, even though he wasn’t a curse user and lacked any natural skill for the art. Toji competed against the most deadly and skilled jujutsu practitioners this era had to offer, his intrinsic physical power much superior to all others in his path. He was able to defeat the strongest sorcerer of that time easily, without enduring any injury. Belonging to the Zenin family, he is the biological father of Megumi Fushiguro.

3. Mahito

One of the primary antagonists of the series is Mahito, and leader of the group consisting of Jogo, Hanami, Choso and Geto. He was born from the fear and hate humans have for each other. His innate technique is idle transfiguration, which is the ability to reshape souls and turn them into weapons of his own. Moreover, with that ability, he is even able to sense others’ real emotions. Moreover, he is extremely intelligent, which makes him even more dangerous. With enhanced speed and durability, he can dominate a battle easily.

2. Suguru Geto/ Psuedo Geto

Suguru Geto was the main antagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen 0. His innate technique is cursed spirit manipulation, which makes him one of the strongest in the Jujutsu realm. He must ingest the curses orally, which are turned into small black orbs. Although he was a Jujutsu High student, a strong feeling of hatred built inside him as time went by, and he made it his life’s mission to kill them all. His only wish was that only jujutsu sorcerers dominate the world.

1. Ryomen Sukuna

Sukuna is the strongest Jujutsu sorcerer from a thousand years ago, from the Heian era. However, he is known to be a disgraceful one, and during the golden age, sorcerers, one after the other, tried to stop him. He transformed his soul into twenty indestructible cursed objects, existing throughout time. He possesses huge amounts of cursed energy, cementing his title as the King of Curses. Although we still do not know his innate technique, he has proved to be one of the most powerful antagonists of the series, and his power comes at par with Satoru Gojo himself.
