Aakhri Sach on Disney+ Hotstar is inspired by Delhi’s Burari Death Case of 2018. Eleven members of the Chundawat family were found dead on July 1, 2018. The case startled everyone as 10 members were found dead by hanging inside the house. In the Hotstar Series, Tamannaah Bhatia plays cop Anya, who is investigating the death case of the family addressed as the Rajawats. Directed by Robbie Grewal, the show also stars Abhishek Banerjee, Shivin Narang, Rahul Bagga, Nishu Dikshit, Danish Iqbal and others.

The Voot series is reportedly based on the 2012 murder case of Ratnakar Raikar. In The Raikar Case, everyone in the family becomes a suspect when the youngest son, Tarun Naik Raikar, is found dead. The Prime Video docuseries is based on Anni Dewani’s murder case of 2010. Anni married Shrien Dewani in October 2010 and went on a honeymoon in South Africa in November. Sadly, Anni was murdered during her honeymoon. The documentary covers everything that led to such a tragic incident and the death of such a bright young woman.

Indian Predator: The Diary of a Serial Killer

The Netflix docuseries is based on serial killer and cannibalist Raja Kolander. Raja murdered 15 people in Uttar Pradesh in the 2000s. The Raja himself appears in the documentary and answers the question. The docuseries is disturbing to watch as the facts revealed are not easy to handle for someone who has just started exploring the true crime genre.

Wild Wild Country

The Netflix documentary grabbed everyone’s attention when it was released in 2018. It is based on Indian cult guru Osho, aka Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, and Ma Anand Sheela. The duo built a community in the US’s Wasco County, Oregon. The docuseries uncovers all the wrongdoings of the duo and how the community became a hub of questionable activities.
