The Uncanny Counter Season 2 (경이로운 소문 2: 카운터 펀치) brings the return of the supernatural mystery comedy-drama of the same name directed by Yoo Seon-dong. The show stars Cho Kyeong-kyu, Yoo Joon-sang, Kim Se-jeong, Yeom Hye-ran, Ahn Suk-hwan, and Yoo In-soo in the lead roles alongside other cast members.

The new season continues the story of the group of Counters who catch evil spirits from the afterlife who have come in search of immortality. With new members joining the gang and bigger evils coming their way, the Counters are ready for a counterattack and stop anyone who comes their way.

The synopsis of the show reads:

Armed with new powers and fresh recruits, the Counters continue their battle against evil demons who feed on humans.

The Uncanny Counter Season 2 Ending Explained

The Uncanny Counter season 2 episode 12 brought a satisfying ending to viewers and has left us with a good feeling and hope for another season where we can see the Counters again. The Kdrama has been a ride filled with laughter and tears and as it ends, we can say that this will definitely be a well-missed sequel.

Towards the end of the show, Pil-gwang is finally defeated by the Counters and sent to get his punishment in the depths of hell. While he does make a statement that points towards his possible return or wish to return, there is nothing that can be said especially after his scene of being taken down by the many souls of hell.

So if Pil-gwang is ever to return (which we sincerely hope does not happen), he is surely to be worse than what he was all of season 2. The finale episode moves on to bring focus on the lives of the many characters on the show and how peace has been settled in every one of their lives.

Starting with Ma Ju-seok is freed from all the memories of these past hectic days when he was possessed. Along with this, he is finally given peace when he is let to meet Min-ji from the beyond and she fills him up with the hope to continue living his life. Thus, he is able to hang on to peace and hope this time, unlike the first time he was sent to prison where he was unable to control his emotions.

The episode moves on Wi Gen asking So Mun to go abroad on behalf of Yung and teach the method he used to face Pil-gwang to other Counters around the world. So Mun accepts this duty and asks to leave as soon as possible. Thus, when the other Counters find out about this they are shocked.

They hoped to get a few days of rest, however, So Mun tells them that he wishes to not let there be another victim like Ju-seok and for this, he will need to leave as soon as possible. With this, they no longer oppose him and let him leave; though a comic scene happens when they leave to drop So Mun at the airport only to leave him halfway when they spot an evil spirit.

With this, there is a six-month time skip when Ha-na’s voice narrates the current situation to So Mun. She is finally able to face Do-hwi with a smile without the heartbreaking feeling she once felt. She narrates how Mo-tak has only gotten busier since So Mun left as he is busy chasing criminals on one hand and evil spirits on the other.

Meanwhile, Mae-ok has somewhat adopted Jae-youl and has been taking care of this boy who was the first person she saved. She sees through his exams and makes sure that he is walking on the right path. Elsewhere Jeok-bong has now become So Mun’s grandmother’s new favourite and has been calling him her “Oppa” since meeting him.

While everyone is continuing on with their lives, they only wish to meet their beloved So Mun again. On the other hand, their beloved So Mun has reached a town in Germany where he meets a woman who reminds him of a certain someone. Turns out that his intuition is right and he soon contacts Wi Gen to meet this person.

Wi Gen is surprised for a moment but does as So Mun asks and soon comes face to face with her daughter. The mother-daughter duo are surprised and happy while Wi Gen thanks So Mun with tear-filled eyes.

Elsewhere, the Counters leave a wedding party a little earlier to catch some evil spirits when they see the territory light up and realise that So Mun is back. The group deals with the group of spirits after a happy reunion and with this, the Counters are once again back to protect.
