Made in Heaven Season 2 Review: The Dark Side of Love and Relationships With a Dose of Light

Sobhita Dhulipala and Karan Mehra series impacted a lot of people with its first season. The show that revolves around the titular Wedding planning firm goes beyond the glitz and glamour of the bride and groom’s happily ever after, a beat the show does not miss during its second season. If anything, the weddings get darker, the relationships get twisted and there is a sense of unpredictability that is not for the weak-hearted.

Made in Heaven Season 2 starts only a few months after the events of the first season. Tara is living with Arjun, running their office from a cheap and crowded locality in Delhi, barely making profits and struggling with their individual things in life. Like always, a wedding equals drama and that is what primarily happens in this show. However, the third business partner- Mr. Jauhari suggests having an auditor for cost-cutting and to make sure the company makes profits. Enters, Bulbul Jauhari- an interesting character, who starts off on the wrong foot with the employees but, becomes a part of MIH soon enough.

But Mrs Jauhari is not the only new face this season, apart from the new set of brides and grooms that bring a whole different story to point in every episode, there is a new production head in MIH- Meher Chaudhary. As Tara and Arjun catch the big fishes in the wedding sea, they tie themselves inevitably to the lives of these people who will change everything they have known or assumed about love. It is not always pretty and the clash with reality in this season really hits.

The broad storyline about all the characters’ life continues alongside the wedding subplots. We have Tara going through her divorce with Adil as Faiza lurks in the background. Arjun gets into other money scandals and love affairs. Jazz’s perception of love changes with instances in her life and what goes on around her and much more. In this season, Meher and Bulbul are also the main characters, dealing with the demons that walk into their lives.

As a show Made in Heaven Season 2 has done yet another amazing job in bringing us stories which are ordinary yet feel extraordinary just because the nuances touch you on a deep level. This season, the acting felt way stronger than the script which was kind of jumpy during certain times. Dhulipala and Mehra are the veteran horses in the game who balance each other perfectly as Tara and Arjun. Jim Sarbh continues to serve, just like Shashank Arora continues to be the wholesome person and narrator he is.

The pleasant surprise was seeing Trineta Halder, the all-favourite Trin-Trin steal the limelight every time she was on screen. From her complex dating life to calling people out when required, Meher Chaudhary as a character is a bomb-ass and, we would have loved to see her last season. Mona Singh has always been a stunner and her story as Bulbul is really moving. Singh’s character takes us by storm and it is one of the best experiences of watching the show.

Made in Heaven Season 2: Final Verdict

Made in Heaven Season 2 has come back stronger and more real than ever. All the weddings feel like a warm hug that can choke you if you indulge in them for too long- a lesson and learning. The second season has more solid elements when it comes to how it is not always easy to walk out in the middle of pheras or fight for what is right. It shows that some battles are silent and effective whereas in some you have to lose before you take the winning bow. A special mention needs to go to the soundtrack which starts gaining momentum after the second episode and keeps peaking throughout the series.

Made in Heaven Season 2 is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
