My Happy Marriage Episode 5 Review: Trouble in Paradise

My Happy Marriage Episode 5 Review: The fifth Episode premiered on August 2, 2023, on Netflix. My Happy Marriage (My Blissful Marriage) or Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon (わたしの幸せな結婚) is an upcoming anime series which will be premiering on Netflix. Based on the light novel of the same name written by Akumi Agitogi and illustrated by Tsukiho Tsukioka, it also has a manga adaptation illustrated by Rito Kohsaka.

The live-action film adaptation of the fantasy series was released in Japan on March 2023. Following the story of Miyo, who enters an arranged marriage with a ruthless commander, officially got its own anime series announced to be directed by Takehiro Kubota under Kinema Citrus Studios. Ami Satō, Takahito Ōnishi and Momoka Toyoda are credited as the writers, and Evan Call gives the music.

-My Happy Marriage Episode 5 Review Does Not Contain Any Spoilers-

The latest episode has intensively progressed immensely since the last one. The new episode surrounds around Miyo and Kudou getting closer to each other. Moreover, some internal family conflicts are also on the rise, which threatens the couple’s well-being. However, Kudou and Miyo rise above any complications.

In episode 5, the characters saw a significant development. Miyo had a very dormant personality at first, having been abused and used her entire life. She used to apologise for everything and pay close attention to avoid stirring any controversy in the house. She continued to have low self-worth and self-esteem and believed herself to be completely useless.

Miyo is, however, gradually beginning to change in personality since moving in with the Kudo family. She was more self-assured and saw her utility around the house. She has also stopped making excuses for tiny problems and has begun to appreciate the life she has been given. She is growing more comfortable in the new house as time passes by.

On the other side, Kiyoka Kudo is becoming much more amenable to Miyo than before. He respects her, but more than anything, he values her presence. He does not consider her to be useless even though she has no exceptional talents. He keeps telling her that she doesn’t need to change and that being herself is enough.

In addition to the story, the animation once again elevates the bar for animes in general. It is admirable how the essence of nature was skillfully captured while incorporating stunning scenic splendour. It’s also important to note how little CGI is used because it maintains the show’s high calibre. Also, every single character is incredibly well-developed, which elevates the storytelling process.

The story is progressively becoming interesting as it moves forward. The characters have also shown significant development that is intriguing and relatable at the same time. The plot thickens, and the story becomes even more wonderful and heartwarming as Kudou and Miyo’s connection grows. The viewer enjoys an immersive experience thanks to the animation’s continued superiority.
