When his stove is stolen, an ex-soldier turned deliveryman goes to the local mafia kingpin Big Nunu to retrieve it. Unfortunately, he gets dragged into pulling off a Heist with the mafia’s bumbling henchmen, which doesn’t turn out the way anyone would expect it to.

When the movie opens with a stolen stove and immediately moves to teaching how to shoot guns to a bunch of mafia men, the leader of whom constantly throws air kisses at you, you know you are in for an insane ride. It’s a funny and chill story of a bunch of bumbling factory workers and small-town thugs who dream of big things and, well, of course, steal guns and then rob a ton of money.
The movie talks quite interestingly about working together and the merits of brotherhood, and although these are small-time criminals, their political and social history and background play a vital part as to why these people are who they are. They showcase these heists quite entertainingly as well, and the jokes are never too silly for you to lose interest. The background score is just right and complements what is happening on-screen effectively.
All the characters in Big Nunu’s Little Heist are really entertaining and make watching this quite good. Almost all are pretty dumb, but it compliments who they are well and doesn’t feel forced. Although I must say that the rate at which the story moves forward will give you whiplash, the fast-paced narrative also saves it from smothering under its own weight.
You are also constantly on the brink of wondering whether or not Delivery Man is really on Big Nunu’s side and whether Big Nunu is truly who he claims to be. There is something fishy in this comedy about pulling oneself from the clutches of poverty, but it’s just that these people are so silly that it becomes difficult taking them seriously. Regardless, it’s interesting to follow all of these people and their insane antics, and it will be a fun time to watch for those who simply want a simple and uncomplicated crime-comedy flick.
Bug Nunu and his gang’s desperation to do something with their lives and get rich quickly will be a relatable struggle for many. They come from poorer backgrounds and mostly have no idea about the real world. Big Nunu and his men are dangerous but, on the other hand, too dumb for their own good. Of course, their confidence is what keeps them going till the end. On the other hand, Delivery Man unwittingly gets pulled into this insane plan without realising what he’s getting into, but his wit and quick thinking are what keep this movie from falling off the deep end.

In the end, the movie fast and furiously ends on a funny note wherein the sky is painted red, but not in the way Big Nunu probably would’ve wanted. It’s a little unbelievable and has a whole lot of over-the-top moments, but it’s entertaining and quickly finishes off without going too deep into anything in particular.

Big Nunu’s Little Heist is an entertaining and fast-paced movie that keeps you laughing. It’s somewhat unbelievable at times and quite over-the-top for a large chunk of the runtime. But hey, it doesn’t dwell too long on anything and has enough insanity happening to keep the audience on its toes.
