15 See You in My 19th Life Quotes That Stirs Hearts and Souls

The K-drama that became everyone’s comfort show in a small span of time has ended, but the memories remain. Some of the See You in My 19th Life Quotes are so deep that it forces us to retrospect on our own lives. Based on the webtoon of the same name by Lee Hye, the story is much more than a simple love story. It contains themes of family, betrayal, loss, forgiveness and much more.

Directed by Lee Na Jung and screenplay by Choi Young Rim, the fantasy series stars Shin Hye-sun and Ahn Bo-hyun in the lead role alongside Ha Yoon-Kyung, Ahn Dong-goo, Cha Chung-hwa, Baek Seung-chul, Lee Jae-kyoon, Kim Si-a, Lee Hae-young, Bae Hae-sun, Bin Chan-uk, Lee Chae-min and others. Without further ado, let us look back at some of the heartwrenching quotes from the romantic drama series.

See You in My 19th Life Quotes

1. “If you’re still unsure, why don’t you try dating me?”

This is what Ban Ji-eum said to Seo-ha when she first met him. Although it is funny, the dialogue has become a favourite among fans. It is an entirely new way to confess one’s feelings for the other in a surprising and hilarious manner. Moreover, the quote is meaningful because Seo-ha said the same thing when he met Ji-eum after she lost her memories.

2. “You’re my first love. This is something that I’ve decided after years of pondering.”

3. “In life, timing is key. And I think the right time is today. I can’t let it pass by me again. I like you.”

4. “I was reborn this time solely to meet you.”

Needless to say that Ji-eum has been in love with Seo-ha since her 18th life when she met him as Ju-won. She repeated living a different life again and again 18 times, but no one else meant so much to her the way Seo-ha did. Their love transcends time and space. No matter when or where they are born, they are destined to meet and fall in love. It is a love so precious and pure, devoid of ill feelings and thoughts.

5. “When I’m with her, my worries melt away and I feel relieved. If this is what love is, can I let myself feel it?”

It was the first time when Seo-ha confessed his feelings for Ji-eum to himself more than anything. He finally accepted that there was an inevitable connection between the two, and he was ready to let go of the fear of being vulnerable and opening up. This moment in the series was a turning point for the plot, which turned into a beautiful relationship.

6. “Every family has a story. We all fight like cats and dogs. That’s how it is.”

7. “Living a safe and ordinary life together with you. That’s all I want.”

8. “At times, an enemy from your past life becomes your family in the present.”

The drama perfectly describes the complicated dynamics within a family. While Ji-eum’s blood family only abused and took advantage of her throughout the years, her chosen family, Ae-gyeong showered her with all the love and support. On the other hand, when Seo-ha had no one beside him, Do-yun was constantly there to provide a helping hand.

9. “Everything in life has an end, and everyone experiences loss.”

10. “Across my many lives, I’ve experienced many things and met a lot of people. I’ve lost a lot of people as well.”

The story also includes themes of death and loss very vividly. Seo-ha’s life became extremely unstable following the death of Ju-won, and even developed mental health issues. However, when he finally accepted her death and met Ji-eum is when he started to recover from his tragic past. Similarly, Ji-eum also cursed herself to remember everything about her past life after her sister was brutally killed in her first life. The series touches on such heavy topics and helps one cope with them with relatable characters and stories.

11. “I will never forget this day. I shall forever remember this rage. Be it hundreds or thousands of years, I shall remember this and be born again. And I will get my revenge no matter what.”

In the 11th episode, Ji-eum, in her first life, experiences a tragic loss. After her sister was mercilessly killed by Min-gi, she grows furious and promises to come back to life again and again until she seeks her revenge. The dialogue is extremely powerful and displays one’s wrath and sadness at losing someone dear to them.

12. “It feels nice to leave everything behind.”

13. “When you want to leave, you should just do it. If not, you can’t ever leave. And you’ll regret it.”

14. “Can you even say that this life is a new life for you? Aren’t you just clinging onto your past relationships?”

The act of letting go can be hard, yet it is freeing. Clinging onto the past certainly does not help anyone. Leaving behind the hurt and sorrow, beginning to embrace the present and expecting good things in the future, is the true essence of living. The show teaches us to move on and accept reality.

15. “I think deep relationships, whether forged out of love or out of hate, are destined to intertwine again as family or as lovers.”

In our lives, we very often develop relationships that stay with us throughout. However, there comes some people in our lives who connect with us in such a manner that it almost feels like we have known them for many lives. It is important to cherish such people in our lives and give them the love they deserve.
