6 Kdramas With Best Romantic Dates That Left Us in a Pool of Emotions: Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo, Tale of the Nine Tailed and More

The ongoing rainy season and our usual affections for heartwarming lovey-dovey Korean drama content make for a splendid combination which reminds of some of the most cherished Kdramas with best Romantic dates. Whether you are in a relationship or not, these moments will grant you vicarious pleasure and make you feel loved (only if they don’t end up accentuating the angst of your single-hood instead). What makes these moments so appealing is the fact that the respective counterparts of the mentioned pairs work so well together that their palpable chemistry reaches out to us from beyond the screen.

We can’t help but fawn over these scenes filled with touch-feely moments that demonstrate at least one of the partners in the relationship taking the initiative to pull on the other’s heartstrings, and granting us the status of the silent and bystanding third-wheeler who feels happy when they do. You may play TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s song and call yourself Anti Romantic as many times as you like, but there’s just something so softly comforting and warm about the below mentioned best Kdrama date scenes that they inject a rush of emotions into our bodies.

(Typing as I hold my tears back) Let’s check out some of the best Kdrama romantic date scenes, regardless of how subtle some of them may be, but the love felt across the fourth wall is just too much!

Kdramas With Best Romantic Dates

Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo’s Carnival Date

The old memories of knowing that Nam Joo-hyuk and Lee Sung-kyung were dating when this K-drama came out in 2016 still haunt me to this day. How can you not love their chemistry? Experiencing the flutters of first loves, we’d all be left feeling like Bok-joo watching such a heart-pounding lovey-dovey moment. Joon-hyung definitely knows his way around to win a girl’s heart. Making for one of the most innocent love stories in Korean dramas, the pair’s carnival date is one of the most ideal options, considering it ends with them watching spell-binding fireworks in the sky, while we experience fireworks in our hearts.

Tale of the Nine Tailed’s Swoonworthy “Very Ordinary Date”

One could ask “what’s so special about an ordinary date?” Well, everything, especially when you’re a thousand year old nine-tailed fox aka a Gumiho. Simple pleasures of life just mean the most when you’re at that age. Jokes apart, even if you’re a regular aged average human being like me, such ordinary expressions of love make for the loudest and clearest ones as well.

Going out on a date doesn’t necessarily require you to make room for extravagant presents and all. If your bond is as profound and pure as that of Lee Dong-wook’s Lee Yeon and Jo Bo-ah’s Yi Ah-eum, that even several generations and the direst and most evil forces in the world can’t keep you apart, then even a simple arcade date that ends with scoops of ice-cream is all that you need to rekindle your romance with your beloved. (Their smiles make fill me with happiness; Season 3 come soon!)

Picnic With the Beau in Strong Woman Do Bong-soon

We love a man who loves his partner as much as Park Hyung-sik’s Ahn Min-hyun does Park Bo-young’s Do Bong-soon. Please, the man literally folded in half and melted down when Bong-soon caught him off-guard and gave him a peck on his cheek. Presenting the least toxic couples of Kdrama, Strong Woman Do Bong-soon blessed us with their cutest picnic date. Can you ever get over how Min-hyun reacted when he first saw Bong-soon walking up to him in her picnic attire? (Crying endlessly) Reading mangas together, and relishing a heart shaped meal made by Bong-soon, please, it doesn’t get cuter than this!

Heartwarming Whispers of Twenty Five Twenty One

Here comes the most silent dates of all. Like I said earlier, some expressions of love don’t have to loud for the other person to hear. Whether you choose to call this scene a date or not, Nam Joo-hyuk’s Baek Ijin and Kim Tae-ri’s Na Hui-do sitting almost shoulder to shoulder and listening to a waves ASMR while enjoying each other’s company at the beach has to be one of the calmest dates ever. After all, nothing gets more romantic than sharing the cable of the same earphone with your partner.

Descendants of the Sun Camping Date

Camping dates like this are everything. Song Joong-ki’s Yoo Shi-jin and Song Hye-kyo’s Kang Mo-yeon are first spotted fishing and sharing talks that scream domestic behaviour at its best. Later, their date culminates with them sharing the same tent as well as endless stories, experiences and memories. Since the date focusses on the stillness of their environment, the two characters are completely engrossed in each other and what they have to say, which reminds us of one of the most significant aspects of any relationship – communication on both sides.

People can bring in gifts and all that paraphernalia easily, but talking to each other isn’t as easy as many make it out to be. This couple proves that till the point partners aren’t comfortable with each other to share the most basic information with each other, they can’t make it to the endline together.

Kiss Under the Fake Rain in King the Land

Lee Jun-ho’s Goo Won has got to be the most ideal and perfect boyfriend one could dream of. Not only does he cook for his partner, Im Yoon-ah’s (or Yoona) Cheon Sa-rang, he also asks for her permission before taking things a notch higher on the intimacy scale and kissing her. (Yes, the bare minimum is attractive, as long as it gets normalised too). Not only has this particular couple brought back all the cliches of romantic narratives, they’ve also owned them and made us fall in love for them again. Kissing under rain is obviously a romantic highlight, but they’ve just made kissing under the fake rain look even better.

SPECIAL MENTION

Fake Blind Date Goes Out of Control in Business Proposal

Nothing beats the same old fake lovers to lovers head over heels for each other trope! Kim Sejoeng’s Shin Ha-ri just knows the way about a guy’s heart and how to make him not fall for her on a blind date designed to fail. However, when the guy in question is Ahn Hyo-seop’s Kang Tae-moo we can expect chaos to reciprocated from the other side as well. There’s no other date quite like this, and Ha-ri introducing Tae-moo to “Samantha and Rachel” just breaks the conventional mould of blind dates and had us rolling on the floor.
