Korean Music Videos With Best Fashion

Honey by MAMAMOO Solar

In one of our previous stories, we even mentioned that Solar would suffice as a K-pop Barbie too if given that chance, and that thought was also inspired by this music video itself. As can be seen, she’s ruling every single colour she’s worn in the video, and she has sported several of them. It’s not just the dresses or outfits that are working for her, but also the make-up and accessory choices that support that look. And then you have the newspaper dress, an absolute winner! Even while playing with her fashion choices here, Solar leads with her sophisticated charm, and we love see her winning at this game.

Party OCLock by NMIXX

NMIXX’s latest EP is titled A Midsummer NMIXX’s Dream, carrying forth the mystical magic of Shakespeare’s Forest in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The aesthetic is translated into their new music video, but with a Kpop twist. Several outfit switches capture in a bright casual wears and then a more floral and breezy lineup of clothing gives the girls the looks of fairies residing in the magical forest. Simultaneously, they also own up the classic girl band look with the uniform attires -all dressed in white.

Idol by BTS

Other than the video itself being funky and colourful, the outfits worn by the septet work well in contrast for them. Supported by endless attire changes, the boys can be seen sporting comfy casual looks, and the other minute they take on a more traditional front by donning Korean hanboks. Rust shaded uniform boy girl pairs give them the looks of a boy band, while striped pant suit combos redefine what it is to own the formal look, which doesn’t always have to have to the stillness of monochromatic patterns plastered on to it. Sometimes extreme drama can also work in the favour of men’s wear.

Flower by BLACKPINK Jisoo

Each and every BLACKPINK music video, be it a solo one or the ones bringing the whole group together, but this specific video posits Jisoo’s worldly fashionable charms. Her calm and composed outlook takes us on a rollercoaster ride as we catch slipping into a new dress after the other, and each one better and different than the previous one. While the song itself may be centred around post-breakup themes and the different shades of emotions, those changes are equally reflected in the changing outfit colours donned by the actor-singer.

Antifragile by LE SSERAFIM

In this blast to the past fashion theme owned by the new 5th Gen girl groups that hark back to the Y2K fashion palette, both NewJeans and LE SSERAFIM are taking the lead. However, the Antifragile MV kicks it up a notch by playing around all-denim outfits, while not replicating the same look and keep things fresh for each member. Other than their ensemble get-ups, their individual characters are also further defined by their distinct fashion choices. Surrounded by a rather dark-toned ambience, its the girls outfits that actually breathe music video to life.

Tiger Inside by SuperM

Tiger Inside offers the audience one of the best alternatives to style a Korean hanbok fuelled by the fusion style. Interweaving traditions with modernity, the second half of the video captures the members in a sparkling hanbok, all of different lengths, exuding unique energies, Taeyong’s hanbok is even fashioned into an eccentric crop top that leaves you questioning the choice of fashion in Kpop MVs (all for the right reasons).

Love by MONSTA X

MONSTA X’s Love proves that formal doesn’t have to be boring and repetitive. While the groups is often caught wearing tuxes and suits, this video takes the same idea but turns the shine on by decking the common choice of the gentlemanly attire with sequins all over. The outfit switch also introduces multiple ways of donning the scarf-style shirts, which may have previously seemed impossible to do for men. Moreover, bandanna hats, like the one sported by Jughead in the Archies comics also makes an appearance, leaving room for groovy makeovers as well.
