If anyone has been visiting Twitter recently, they would see a barrage of Pasoori Nu reactions. Considering Arijit Singh is the main vocalist along with Tulsi Kumar, it doesn’t seem too far-fetched. From the film SatyaPrem Ki Katha, directed by Sameer Vidwans and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Shareen Mantri Kedia and Kishor Arora, this song was originally a Coke Studio single by Shae Gill and Ali Sethi. The upcoming film stars Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, Shikha Talsania, Ritu Shivpuri, Supriya Pathak, Mahru Sheikh and Gajraj Rao, alongside other cast members.

In the most recent release, the original songwriter Sethi is only credited for creating the lyrics and the Music. While the music video features the two on top of the call sheet, singing ballads in each other’s ears as they are surrounded by an expansive set singing about being swept up in the throes of love. The beginning also gives us a little look into what their relationship will be like. Teasing that this is most likely about to be a friends-to-lovers story, it seems that they are already okay with going into this with the promise of romantic attraction in the background.

Consequently, this song serves as their confession. In accordance, some of the original lyrics have been changed to give way to the story in the song. Revealing some of what the female protagonist feels about her lover, this song starts off with her perspective before handing over the mantle to Singh, who delivers the song’s chorus with the original’s enthusiasm. However, some fans explain how even the most prolific singer in the industry cannot save this song.

The polarity in the reactions is striking. There are some who absolutely hate it and some who cannot wait to play this song on a loop. Someone even called Singh the Kohinoor of the industry, which wouldn’t be a lie if it weren’t being talked about with this song in reference. Most of the positive reactions limit themselves to the artistry and talent of the singer but don’t go forth in talking about the rest of the elements in the song the same way.

However, the negative reactions don’t stop at the music. Listeners have shared that Aaryan’s performance in the song has made it understandable why the song induces so much cringe. Whereas others have shared memes about the song destroying the original, sharing how the remake has got nothing on the original.
