See You in My 19th Life Episode 4 Recap and Review: Emotions Unravel in Love’s Spirited Twist!

The romance is blooming in See You in My 19th Life Episode 4 and, once again, is ready to evoke laughter and tears. The episode premiered on June 25, 2023, with a runtime of approximately 60 minutes.

See You in My 19th Life (이번 생도 잘 부탁해) is a South Korean romantic comedy-drama series that is based on the webtoon of the same name by Lee Hye. Directed by Lee Na Jung and screenplay by Choi Young Rim, the fantasy series stars Shin Hye-sun and Ahn Bo-hyun in the lead role alongside Ha Yoon-Kyung, Ahn Dong-goo, Cha Chung-hwa, Baek Seung-chul, Lee Jae-kyoon, Kim Si-a, Lee Hae-young, Bae Hae-sun, Bin Chan-uk, Lee Chae-min and others.

The series is executive produced by Kim Sun-tae alongside Jung Hyun-wook and Lee Ji-yoon produces it. Scheduled to have 12 episodes in total, the show started streaming on June 17, 2023, till July 23, 2023. It takes over tvN’s Saturday and Sunday 9:20 KST slot previously occupied by Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938.

See You in My 19th Life Episode 4 Recap

The episode picks up with Ji-eum remembering her past life, where she met an early death again and lost her mother. After continued attempts to reunite, she was unable to create a relationship with her mother. However, in her 18th life as Ju-won, she promises her mother that she will forever be by her side. This sudden confession leaves her mother perplexed, which leads them to share an intensely emotional moment.

Meanwhile, Seo-ha coincidently sees her and reminds him of Ju-won, and he abruptly calls out her name. Right then, Cho-won’s mother appears, and they run away from the premises. Later, Seoha during Seo-ha’s taxi ride, he starts to see Ji-eum in unusual places, like on billboards which make him question the reality. He arrives at Do-yun’s place, and they share a meal together. He expresses his troubles to Do-yun, to which Do-yun replies that Ji-eum’s thoughts are keeping him occupied.

The next day both Seo-ha and Do-yun both arrive at Cho-won’s garden and suddenly, Ji-eum also appears. Cho-won and Ji-eum hold a casual conversation, during which Cho-won brings up her late sister Ju-won. Ji-eum gets surprised when she hears the name and mistakenly drops the tray of cups. Hearing the loud sound, both Seo-ha and Do-yun arrive at the scene. However, both of them reveal to Cho-won that she has been recruited to work for the hotel as a florist.

Seo-ha keeps trying to avoid Ji-eum, but his efforts go in vain. Ji-eum consistently expresses her feelings towards him, but he rejects them all. Then she asks for three more chances to him, and she is confident that she will succeed. On the other hand, Cho-won asks Do-yun on a date however, he rejects it as it might affect their future professional relationship. Nevertheless, there are clear indications that he likes her back too.

As Ji-eum is walking down the road, she encounters a mysterious man who gives her an eerie feeling. Meanwhile, Seo-ha has some trouble in the workplace involving his stepmother which creates further turmoil inside him. As he was driving in the car, he see Ji-eum running away from a man on a busy road. Ji-eum is followed by her brother, who demands money from her, but fortunately, Seo-ha appears and saves her from the situation.

Ji-eum and Seo-ha both go to a nearby shop to share a meal together. Ji-eum continues to show interest towards him; however, Seo-ha dodges them all. However, after having a few drinks, he becomes extremely intoxicated and unable to walk. They both sit beside a canal, and he says that she reminds him of someone he knew.

Cho-won suddenly appears and offers help when she sees Seo-ha drunk. Cho-won and Ji-eum both drop him at his house. However, while Ji-eum was helping him sleep, her face reminds him of the past accident. He holds Ji-eum’s hand and sobs in his sleep while calling out Ju-won’s name. The episode ends on that note.

One cannot look away from Shin Hye-sun, not just because of her elegance and beauty but for her continued brilliant performance. She portrays the character effortlessly, making the audience relate to every aspect of her story. Ahn Bo-hyun, on the other hand, is also a great presence on-screen and offers great support to his co-actors.

The plot is seemingly moving forward at a consistent pace without dragging the story for too long. A considerable amount of character development can be seen, providing depth to the story. Moreover, the magnificent scenic beauty naturally elevates the storytelling process, keeping the audience hooked till the end. Nevertheless, the episode is entertaining from the beginning till the end.
