Black Clover Sword of the Wizard King Ending Explained: As Conrad remained determined to destroy the Clover Kingdom, Asta stood strong between his formidable plans. The last few minutes showcased an epic battle between the two, but who reigned victorious at the end?

Directed by Ayataka Tanemura, Black Clover Sword of the Wizard King or Black Clover: Mahou Tei no Ken (ブラッククローバー 魔法帝の剣) premiered on June 16, 2023, on Netflix. Based on the manga of the same name by Yuuki Tabata, the screenplay is written by Johnny Onda and Ai Orii. The voice cast includes Gakuto Kajiwara, Toshihiko Seki, Fumiya Takahashi, Miyuki Sawashiro and more.

Minako Seki gives the music, and the theme song, Here I Stand, is performed by the K-pop group Treasure. With a runtime of 113 minutes, the movie is available in Japanese with English subtitles and English dub.

Black Clover Sword of the Wizard King Ending Explained

The Black Clover movie starts off with the Clover Kingdom celebrating the Triumph and was in the middle of an intense competition between wizards to determine who will become the next Wizard King. As Yuno draws his sword to fight The Masked One (Asta’s disguise) Conrad appears out of thin air. In an instant, he unleashes his wrath upon the citizens of the kingdom and starts to attack them. Along with him, he brought three former Wizard Kings, Princia Funnybunny, Jester Garandaros, and Edward Avalaché, whom he resurrected using the Imperial sword as they share the same ideals.

Who were the three former kings?

Princia Funnybunny, Jester Garandaros, and Edward Avalaché were the three former Wizard Kings who were stripped of their titles due to their rebellious beliefs to destroy the Clover Kingdom. Princia was the 11th Wizard King, Jester was the 16th, and Edward the 20th. They were revived by Conrad to fulfil his desire to create a world devoid of sadness and injustice.

The three kings possessed immense power within themselves with the help of the Imperial Sword, which absorbed the magical power from the people of the Clover Kingdom and made them undefeatable. Nevertheless, they were met with vigorous and powerful wizards who gave fought back relentlessly to protect the land and their people.

What happened to Princia, Jester and Edward?

Although the former kings were extremely powerful, the wizards of the kingdom did not give up easily. Princia was met with an equally strong and vicious opponent, Mereoleona. She is able to beat Princia’s Legion Magic with persistent effort. Jester on the other hand was defeated by Yuno’s continuous attacks and broke through the magic call created by his Barrier Magic. Lastly, Edward’s Ice Wedge Magic remained impenetrable for a long time but with the efforts of all the wizards and Noelle’s final blow finally took down the powerful Wizard King.

Did Asta defeat Conrad and how?

The epic battle between Asta and Conrad took place above the town of Hage. They both were continuously fighting with each other, not just with their magic but with their polar opposite ideologies as well. They both attained a level above their original forms as time went by in order to win the battle. After Asta broke the Imperial Sword, the three former kings disappeared from the realm. However, Conrad was still determined to complete his objective of destroying the entire Clover Kingdom.

Conrad began to chant magical spells again that will surely destroy the world and everyone in it. But Asta, with the help of Elsdocia, created by the first Wizard King, Lumiere, which contains the power, wisdom, and a piece of the soul of every Wizard King, finally defeats Conrad. With the help of the powers of his comrades, he is able to stop Conrad and his evil plans. In the end, Conrad dies and reunites with his associates to find peace.
