NCT Dream Broken Melodies and ISTJ Album Release Date Out! Comeback Deets Inside

After wrapping up the 4th Asian leg of their ‘The Dream Show 2: In A Dream’ encore world tour at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, the SM Entertainment boy group is developing a new mix as the news of Nct Dream Broken Melodies pre-release and their new comeback has reached our ears. Never taking a breath to settle down, the South Korean septet’s souls have replenished their fans’ energy since 2016. All seven of them – Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle and Jisung – have now mastered the art of entertainment, just as they’ve excelled at their music. And with this announcement from the label, our deep cravings of new music from them are taking newer heights.

On June 13, 2023, SM published an official statement about the group’s new musical plans that have left the fans counting down the days and preserving their wallets in support of their favourite artistic act. Having dipped their toes in varying territories and genres, the group is well known for breathing new life into the K-pop scene with each and every one of their comebacks. While the intricate details haven’t come up yet, we still have quite enough on our plates to savour. Here’s what we know about the third NCT subunit’s musical premiere.

About NCT Dream Broken Melodies

First teased during the course of the NCT Dream Dream Show 2 tour, a short surprise VCR popped up at the venue’s huge screen, revealing the pre-release (and b-side) track’s title as Broken Melodies. With scrapbook letters on the board, the song’s name first caught the attention of the audience, which gained even more traction upon the video being circulated online in the subsequent hours. The clip first merely teased that the track would be dropping soon this month, and at the time it wasn’t clear if the announcement was referring to a song title or simply the group’s new album name.

Another aspect that left a mark on the fans of the group was the visual of the septet, wearing No. 7 jerseys, standing with their backs facing the camera as they looked on up high to a sports stadium’s scoreboard. Flashing lights at the same venue unveiled the board spelling out words like “DREAM STADIUM” and “BIG SEVEN CONFERENCE”. The brief teaser also lent the chorus harmony of the song to the listeners’ ears, further raising anticipation for the upcoming premiere.

The song slated for its release on June 19, 2023, (Monday) at 6PM KST, is meant to serve as the pre-release track of the new NCT Dream comeback album ISTJ. Probably to be accompanied by a sports-themed music video, the song is set to raise the bar for NCTzens’ expectation as they’ve long been awaiting the youthful septet to take charge and deliver new music.

NCT Dream ISTJ Album Release Date and Pre-Orders

NCTzens’ dreams are finally coming true as the “Dreamies” have now announced the release date of their forthcoming third full album ISTJ (reference to a MBTI type – a topic that has well consumed many K-pop idols in the recent years). Coming out on July 17, 2023, i.e. nearly a month from now, the studio album will be led by the song of the same name, and the pre-order period for the physical sales of the album will begin on the same date as the Broken Melodies premiere – June 19, 2023.

This album will be a follow-up act to their two previous full albums – Hot Sauce (2021) and Glitch Mode (2022). NCT Dream’s last musical drop was the 2023 English version of Beatbox, which followed soon after their first Japanese single album Best Friend Ever. In terms of their last Korean music premiere, the SM Entertainment boy group released CandyWinter Special Mini Album in 2022.

NCT Dream ISTJ Tracklist

So far, two track titles have been confirmed – the pre-release single Broken Melodies and the eponymous title track ISTJ. Other than that, more details of the album are yet to be updated. A total of 10 songs will be featured on the band’s third full-length album.

Fans of SM Entertainment boy groups have also noted that the new Dream comeback promotions will overlap with fellow label bands’ releases as well. EXO is also putting out new music in the form of their upcoming seventh full-length album on July 10, 2023. Whereas, SHINee’s eight studio album is dropping on June 26, 2023, a week after the Dream pre-release premiere.
