Barracuda Queens: When and Where to Watch? All About the Swedish Crime TV Show

Set in Sweden 1995, the latest “Eat the Rich” Netflix series Barracuda Queens is based on true events, and this bit of detail has us seated. The upcoming half-hour episodes were directed by Amanda Adolfsson, and they thread the story about partying teens who’re A+ students in the community. Yet, one fine day things fall down for them when they no longer have the budget to keep their vacay fever on. What do they do next? Is there a way out of this pressing debt for them? Lucky for them, they know just how to twist and bend the concept of “girl power” to their will.

Produced by the company Asp Varhos, the series has been co-written by Camilla Ahlgren, Sofie Forsman, Tove Forsman and Veronica Zacco, and here’s what the dream team cooked up together.

Barracuda Queens Cast

The leading quintet of girls out to bag your purse includes Alva Bratt as Lollo Millkvist, Sarah Gustafsson as Amina Khalil, Tea Stjärne as Mia Thorstensson, Tindra Monsen as Klara Rapp and Sandra Strandberg Zubovic as Frida Rapp. Additionally, Izabella Scorupco will star as Lollo’s mom, Max Ulveson as Lollo’s brother, Carsten Bjørnlund as Lollo’s dad, Johannes Kuhnke as Klara and Frida’s mother and others.

Barracuda Queens Plot/Storyline

Dissatisfied and frustrated with how things are in society, while trying to find a purpose in their teenage lives, a bunch of teenage girls take matter into their hands. Initiating a campaign of “taking from the rich”, they commence their mission of house burglaries, targeting their simple-minded rich neighbours. As the group of young women gain the infamous name as Barracuda Queens, their initial debts push them to take this stand.

Ruthlessly setting out on a rampage to get every rich house in their proximity, while the group members find a sort of family in each other, they get pushed down this road by their own affluence getting to their heads. The group first starts out as a quartet and as they concoct a plan to stela from their new neighbour, Amina, things turn on their head, when she ends up joining them instead despite her privileged lifestyle.

Resorting to these series of heists, the girls start living the best of both worlds as a means to emancipate themselves. Putting on the innocent look, they excel at their high school, and pull a reversal of fate with their new undertaking of targeting the wealthy proponents of society. In addition to questioning societal hierarchy and the social ladder paradigm, the show will also explore themes of new-found friendships among the girls who start relying on each other for everything, but internal conflicts are only inevitable in such arrangements, further threatening their clandestine operation.

Barracuda Queens Release Date and Trailer

Expect to have 6 episodes, the Swedish series premieres only on Netflix on June 5, 2023. English and other subtitles will be available for international audiences. Check out the trailer of the show below to get a first look at the new characters ready to meet us.
