Class of 09 Episode 4 Review: Not Your Girlfriend

Polygraph tests and firearms are the norm when it comes to telling a Quantico story and, with Class of 09 Episode 4, we head towards the same. We start in the past timeline with our agents-in-making making their first firearm decision and taking action.

We get to know how some, like Tayo, have their way around it and, some, like Hour, have never held a gun in their whole life. The way the reasons are intricately put forward as we get to explore the origin story of some sense of the characters is really commendable.

As we stay in the past timeline, we follow the Class taking their pitch class where they shoot at targets put forward. Through this exercise, we get to see the hesitations and inhibitions of each of the characters. From firearms, we move to polygraphs where a lot of beans are spilt for the coffee to brew in the present and future.

These themes of truth and lies and weapons are what the present is based on. Tupirik justifies his act of pulling the trigger through his position of being an agent. Having said this, the big plan is still in motion as Tupirik mentioned in the last episode when he got caught and, that is what unravels itself this time.

Class of 09 Episode 4: Final Thoughts

There is a lot of character study in Class of 09 Episode 4. For starters, we really get to understand Hour, the creator of Better Life, more in this one episode. Why she created something with the potential to destroy the future, What power means to her and more. Power is definitely an underlying theme in this episode.

One can even conclude that the power of romance and restraint is something that comes alive in this. Be it the scene where we see Hour give Poet a cheek kiss or when Poet’s relationship with Lenix comes to light, there is romance and restrain walking side by side in this one as we delve deeper into the human connection these recruits are making and exploring.

As we proceed with the episodes, it makes more sense for us to get down to knowing how human understanding and connections are always going to be superior to the world AI wants to/aims to build.
