As the plot thickens, it’s now time to indulge ourselves with the Love and Death episode 7 preview. As previously seen in the Hulu series Candy, HBO Max’s Love and Death also deals with the true-crime story surrounding the infamous axe murder that took place in 1980. The miniseries has been directed by Lesli Linka Glatter, written by David E. Kelley, and has Jeff Russo as its composer. Its featured opening theme, Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood, has been sung by Nina Simone.

Love and Death Plot

Centred around the true story of a Texan housewife, Candy Montgomery, the show takes us through different chapters of her life in Wylie, Texas, before the infamous tragedy ultimately struck. Being one of the core members of her community’s Methodist church, she’s unsatisfied with how stifling her situation is, and so to seek a “reckless” way out of this paradigm, she steps into an extramarital affair with Allan Gore, a fellow of the church. While having begun on this route, Candy has no plans of hurting anyone in the process, it eventually leads her to the point when she brutally murders her friend (Allan’s wife), Betty Gore in 1980.

Elizabeth Olsen leads the cast as the titular character Candy Montgomery. The remaining main ensemble cast includes Jesse Plemons as Allan Gore, Lily Rabe as Betty Gore, Patrick Fugit as Pat Montgomery, Kristen Ritter as Sherry Clecker, Tom Pelphrey as Don Crowder, Elizabeth Marvel as Jackie Ponder and Keir Gilchrist as Ron Adams.

HBO Max held a 3-episode premiere for the show, with episodes 1, 2 and 3 releasing on April 27, 2023. With a total of 7 episodes in the season, each one will be released on a weekly basis till May 25, 2023.

The sixth episode of the season is set to premiere on May 25, 2023, at 12 AM PT or 3 AM ET. 

Love and Death Episode 7 Prediction

The upcoming episode titled ‘Sssshh’ will also mark the Love and Death finale. So it’s likely to head into uncharted territory, i.e. Betty and Candy’s scuffle, which finally led to the former’s death ultimately. Since the case is based on a real-life story, we already know that Candice Montgomery was eventually acquitted on all counts, following the court proceedings. The last episode of the season will focus on how Candy will attain that favourable end with her lawyer, Don Crowder’s help. However, as expected, things can’t go back to their pre-established normalcy, leaving Candy’s family with the only possibility of starting anew.

Love and Death Episode 6 Recap

‘The Big Top’ episode commences the court hearings for Betty Gore’s murder case. In a new twist, Don Crowder, i.e. Candy’s lawyer, comes clean to the court about his client’s role in the murder and presents it as a case of self-defence. Candy experiences a fallout with some of her friends and acquaintances, and those who still side with her face estrangement. Crowder keeps inciting his client, demanding some kind of emotional response from her in order to humanise her side of the story for the jury.
