True to Love Episode 10 is titled ‘Catfish Makes Way, Sardine Makes a Move‘ and as mentioned, Bo-ra and Su-hyeok find their ex’s contacting them again. Also known as Bo-ra! Deborah (보라! 데보라) is the latest romantic comedy-drama series on Amazon Prime Video. Co-directed by Lee Tae-gon and Seo Min-jeong, the K-Drama is developed by KT Studio Genie from a screenplay written by Ah Kyung.

The ensemble cast of the show includes Yoo In-na as Yeon Bo-ra/Deborah, Yoon Hyun-min as Lee Su-hyeok, Joo Sang-wook as Han Sang-jin, Hwang Chan-sung as Noh Ju-wan, Park So-jin as Lee Yu-jeong, Koo Jun-hoe as Yang Jin-ho, Kim Ye-ji as Yeon Bo-mi, Lee Sang-woon as Yang Jin-woo, Song Min-ji as Su-jin, Kim Ji-an as Yu-ri, and Park Ri-won as Da-mi.

Starting on an awkward note, we meet the characters back at the club where everyone is sitting in silence. Not being able to take it, Su-hyeok excuses himself & soon Bo-ra also follows. She tries to talk to him & apologises for everything that she said in the gym. At first, he was trying to ignore her but decided to hear what she had to say.

She explains to him that she didn’t mean to sexualise and degrade him, especially when she cherishes him as a great friend or a comrade, with whom she can share all her pains. Hearing Bo-ra’s sincere apology & how she feels about him, Su-hyeok decides to let it go and calls themselves a pair like Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.

By the time they come back after clearing the misunderstandings, they see Jin-woo beating up Sang-jin and even proclaiming his Love for his wife. Despite everyone telling him to stop, he states that no matter who falls in the water, he will always choose Yu-jeong to save first. But she runs away in embarrassment and that’s how the girl’s night comes to an end.

Jin-ho and Bomi finally get to meet each other & they go on a date near the Han River. When Su-hyeok drops Bo-ra home, one can sense that something is certainly going on from their sweet talks. Moreover, he compliments her by saying that she indeed got prettier. While Sang-jin gets to know that the reason for his divorce might not be what he thought was.

Even after coming back, Bo-ra texts Su-hyeok saying how thankful she was but he leaves it on read and starts cleaning up all the things that belonged to Yu-ri. Maybe the conversation with Bo-ra helped him make up his mind & let go of his past. On the other hand, she is wondering why he didn’t reply and gets a text from Ju-wan instead.

The next day, she shows the text to Yu-jeong & putting the two together, they realise that it could have been because of Jin-woo’s meetup with Ju-wan. After seeing her with Su-hyeok, he must be curious to know about their relationship. She doesn’t reply anything but one of her acquaintances invites Yu-jeong to her pre-wedding shoot, in front of her. Seeing how she wants to exclude Bo-ra because Ju-wan is also coming, she invites herself forcefully.

She also shows the text to Su-hyeok, to see how he reacts & it’s exactly what one would expect. At first, he says that these texts have no meaning and when he gets to know about the wedding shoot, he asks her to not go but later decides to accompany her. Meanwhile, Bo-ra meets up with the staff from her radio program, who asks her to come back.

There Yu-ri ends up giving her wedding invitation & when she sees Bo-ra reading her favourite book, past memories seem to come up in her mind. Even Bo-ra ambiguously mentions Su-hyeok, as he told her that the book was no fun & she was reading to check that. Yu-ri also tells her that actually she was confused between two men and Bo-ra’s advice helped her choose the man, who gave her everything without asking.

She even decides to give the wedding invitation to Su-hyeok, just to see his reaction & if he is miserable without her. She wanted to see him cry and fall into her arms, just like the character of the book but instead, she is one still trying to pry on any lingering feelings. She asks him if he ever loved her, however, he says that it’s all in the past & does not have anything to say now. This seems to hurt her & she tells him to come to her wedding & see what he lost, while she walks out crying.

While Su-hyeok is trying to gather his thoughts, sitting alone in the cafe; Bo-ra sees him from outside & decides to join. Oblivious to what had happened a minute ago, she points at the identical invitation & asks if he also knows Yu-ri. Without saying anything, she realises that Su-hyeok is her ex-boyfriend & takes him out to drink his pain up.

Sang-jin also reaches out to his ex-wife to get to know the exact reason for their divorce. It turns out that he was too busy with his work that they hadn’t even sat together in the past 2 weeks, before the divorce. When Su-jin had to go to her in-laws for a memorial service, she realised how lonely she feels & when her husband doesn’t protest about bringing the divorce up; she thinks that there was no love left between them. Yet he keeps on denying everything.

After her outburst, Yu-ri still shows up at the publishing company to give the invitation to Sang-jin but doesn’t find Su-hyeok there. On asking about his whereabouts, she realises that it was actually Su-hyeok in the mall with Bo-ra, as they are working together. While going back, she encounters Bo-ra & decides to walk away. But she stops her & says that by not telling that Yu-ri was actually confused between two men & not lovesick over Su-hyeok, she deceived her with the half-truth.

At the company, Sang-jin brings up about starting social media or getting on her radio show again which would help with her book promotion. Yet when she hears that Su-hyeok took a day off, she texts him asking if he is fine. And even though he doesn’t reply, her messages help him get out of the blue mood.

Although he promised to go together to the pre-wedding shoot of Bo-ra’s friend, she didn’t expect him to turn up to pick her up. While they were on the way, Yu-ri calls him up crying and says that he misses him & wants to see him right now. Deep in thought about what to do, he apologises to Bo-ra and says that he has to go see Yu-ri. Flabbergasted Bo-ra gets out of the car & watches him drive away but something strikes in her mind & she decides to run back to him, while the car is standing at the red light.

Summing Up: True to Love Episode 10

The episode was like a rollercoaster till the end, as the character’s emotions and even the viewers went up and down as things got revealed. While many would feel what Yu-ri is doing is wrong but I guess she is in the same place as Bo-ra was previously. Her calling Su-hyeok while crying felt like a deja vu but yes, considering how even she wasn’t all in for Su-hyeok, it seems like she is only trying to get a reaction out of him.
