Saint X Episode 4: Did Edwin Betray Clive AKA Gogo for Freedom or Love?

There were some major reveals this week in Saint X Episode 4, and viewers almost lost their minds. This psychological thriller show based on the book of the same title by Alexis Schaitkin stars Alycia Debnam-Carey as Emily, West Duchovny as Alison, Jayden Elijah as Edwin, Josh Bonzie as Gogo, Kenlee Anaya Townsend as Young Claire, Michael Park as Bill Thomas and Betsy Brandt as Mia Thomas, alongside other cast members.

The series is created by Leila Gerstein and directed by Darren Grant and Dee Rees. The cinematography is done by Tony Mirza and Richard Rutkowski. In the fourth Episode, we get a little glimpse into the relationship between Alison and Edwin. How he manages to sneak off without suspicion, and the growing concern Alison’s dad has for her when it comes to the employees at the hotel.

Saint X Episode 4: Big Reveals

At the end of the episode, we see Gogo getting one of the most unfortunate calls of his life. His girlfriend asks him why he hasn’t sent money for so long. After explaining in detail that he wasn’t feeling well and had to go to the doctor, she drops the bomb on him that she married Edwin, and he will be taking care of the family now. While this should have already been a big betrayal, he seemed more annoyed that she had married someone who had betrayed him before.

This begs the question of why he was more annoyed by past experiences and not this one as much as he should have been. Returning to their working days at the Indigo Bay, we find that Edwin scored in getting some cocaine from the local drug dealer One-Eyed Mike. To keep this merchandise safe, he brings Gogo some pastries as a bribe. Gogo has a lockbox where they keep all the weed and now the cocaine that Edwin successfully procured.

Since all the evidence is at Gogo’s house, Edwin has dusted off any prints of his involvement with the drugs or their procurement. While the two of them were accused of killing Alison, they were exacerbated by the police, who conducted a thorough investigation into the case, eventually coming back to the fact that no one killed Alison and that it was probably a freak accident. However, the look on Gogo’s face convinces us that there is something more to this than we think.

Eventually, the drugs are seized from Gogo’s house, and he is sent to prison. While he initially explained these concerns to Edwin, the friend did not take them as seriously. As someone who doesn’t have to deal with the consequences of his actions, this was a pretty good opportunity to take. He may have been excited to bring his friends along to New York, but he was also completely okay with stepping on other people to get there.

This marriage betrayal is not just a prick on one fore. It is an avalanche of disappointment for Gogo. Edwin was his best friend. But he was also the one to dissuade the girl from getting together with Gogo when they were children, and he was also the one to make him vulnerable to jail time for possession of drugs. Moreover, marrying Gogo’s ex-girlfriend is the icing on top of the cow dung cake of a situation that Gogo has put himself into.

But this meant freedom for Edwin, who didn’t have to deal with a nagging friend anymore. There may have been a love for the girl he married, which might have even extended into his childhood. Including a betrayal of this high account, the episode was a rollercoaster.

Saint X Episode 4 is currently streaming on Hulu.
