When is Makoto Shinkai’s Suzume Releasing? Here’s Everything We Know About the Anime Film

Suzume no Tojimari (すずめの戸締ま) is the latest Japanese anime Film written and directed by the renowned filmmaker, animator, Makoto Shinkai. Having released in some nations across the world, the film has already climbed up as one of the highest-grossing films of all time in Japan, and is now ready for the rest of the world to make noise in name of its appreciation.

If you’ve watched his older Movie releases like Your Name and Weathering With You, you probably already know how natural disasters have served as common thematic inspirations for his works. His upcoming movie will be centred around a similar motif as the writer ultimately came up with the idea for it while taking a tour around Japanese locations, which left him with the resounding image of “mourning deserted places”, referring to the many abandoned places in the country – the ultimate influence for this film.

As part of the movie’s crew, Masayoshi Tanaka has come up with the character designs for the movie, animation direction was helmed by Kenichi Tsuchiya, while Takumi Tanji took over the art direction, and the Japanese rock band Radwimps and Kazuma Jinnouchi took control of the music. This marks the third-time the band has come together with Masayochi Tanaka (both aforementioned projects being celebrate their former collaborations).

Additionally, the animator has also paved the way for the title’s adaptation into a novel and a manga series illustrated by Denki Amashima. Now, let’s get into what its story is all about.
