Operation Nation (Kryptonim Polska) is a brand-new Polish comedy-drama film that premiered on Netflix. Directed by Piotr Kumik and screenplay by Jakub Ruzyllo and Lukasz Sychowicz, the plot follows a man who gets involved with a radical right extremist group and finds himself at crossroads when he meets a girl with opposing views.

Jerzy Dziegielewski, Pawel Heba, Maciej Sojka and Roman Szczepanik for Orphan Studio produces the film. Starring Maciej Musiałowski as Staszek Sulkowski in the lead role alongside Maciej Musiałowski as Roman, Magdalena Maścianica as Pola Ratajczyk. The movie has a runtime of approximately 90 minutes.

Operation Nation Ending Explained

The radical rightist group, AYS, led by Roman, began to formulate a plan to cleanse Poland of the deviants, which included Jews, people of colour and the LGBTQ+ Community. Their first line of action was to build a bomb and set it up at the synagogue. They were in contact with an Italian man with the same beliefs who was travelling to their city to help them create the bomb. However, the man faces racial hate crime upon reaching Poland, which leads him to get hospitalised. The plan fails before it even begins, and Roman start to think of other ways to “heal” the country.

Did Pola find out about Staszek?

AYS continues their way of causing horrendous violence against people of colour, and during one of the brawls, a member gets brutally stabbed. They instantly organise a protest against the restaurant, and Staszek is also called to join them. However, they are also opposed by a liberal leftist group, which Pola was also a part of. Things escalated, and soon the protest took a violent turn, during which Pola saw Staszek on the other side. She quickly put things together and found out that he was also a part of the Nazi group. This led them to break up the relationship.

Why was Staszek unwilling to participate in the mission?

The group took on another mission to attack the bus at the Pride Parade by setting up a bomb. However, Staszek was under the impression that they were only going to be blowing up the bus, but later Roman revealed that he would also blow up the people that were going to ride on it. This made him disagree with the plan and decided to leave. But Roman and others do not let him leave and tie him up inside the hotel room.

Was Staszek Able to Defuse the Bomb in the Pride Parade?

Staszek managed to call up Pola while he was still tied up and informed her about the plan. She rushed to the hotel and rescued him. They head out to the parade and try to look for the bus where the bomb was planted. Pola searches for the detonator and eventually finds it, but as she is about to defuse it, she gets interrupted by Roman as he pulls a gun at her. Roman presses the button of the detonator, but the bomb does not blow up. It is revealed that Mariusz detaches the bomb and disarms it beforehand.

What Happened to Roman?

The police arrived at the scene and take Roman and his assailant to jail. A court session commences a few days later, where the judges announce their judgement towards the hate crime. However, Roman was nowhere to be seen, and his assailant took all the blame upon himself for the crime. Roman is seen in the same apartment with a new team formulating plans to cleanse the country. A political figure enters the room and offers him to join their party.
