Operation Nation (Kryptonim Polska) is an Upcoming Polish Political comedy-drama film, releasing on Netflix this week. The screenplay is written by Jakub Ruzyllo, and Lukasz Sychowicz and the film is directed by Piotr Kumik. Produced by Jerzy Dziegielewski, Pawel Heba, Maciej Sojka and Roman Szczepanik for Orphan Studio.

It follows the story of a man belonging to a radical group but decides to hide his identity when he falls in love with a girl with a completely different ideology.

The cast of the film includes Maciej Musiałowski as Staszek Sulkowski, Borys Szyc as Roman, Magdalena Maścianica as Pola Ratajczyk, Antoni Królikowski as Kajetan, Karol Kadłubiec as Mieszko, Mateusz Król as Brajan, Karol Bernacki as Mariusz, Piotr Cyrwus, Aleksandra Justa, Adam Cywka, Dominika Walo, Cezary Pazura and others.

Operation Nation Plot/Synopsis

Netflix’s description of the film reads, “A member of a nationalist group in Warsaw begins a forbidden romance with a passionate, left-wing activist, leading to a series of surprising events.” Right off the bat in the trailer, we get an idea about the film and the topics it will be dealing with. We see a priest asking the Radical Youth Association, abbreviated as ZMR members about their organisation & we get a hint about their ideology which opposes everything from homosexuality to Harry Potter & Pokemon.

But one of the young members, Staszek’s parents are worried about his association with the group and wants him to live his life, meeting various kinds of people. While on the other hand, the ZMR is always finding itself in trouble for obvious reasons. However, one day while hanging out at a pub, he meets Pola while trying to tackle a leftist guy.

However, Staszek decides to hide his identity from Pola, who sides with the left group and thus it becomes a story of two lovers on two different sides, conflicted with what to believe in. On one side Staszek is complied to follow the group leader Roman’s orders, while on the other, he wants to support Pola and be with her.
