AKA Trailer: Alban Lenoir Gets Stuck in a Moral Crisis As Emotions Take Over an Action-Thriller Ride

The AKA trailer promises yet another mega punch with the upcoming action-thriller French movie. On March 30, Netflix released the full-length trailer for the gritty film coming out next month. It stars Alban Lenoir, footballer-turned-actor Éric Cantona, Thibault de Montalembert and others and has been directed by Morgan S. Dalibert.

The film trailer introduces Lenoir’s character as a ruthless Special Ops agent who’s been working for the branch for 20 years. He’s once again put on the job when a radicalised Sudanese terrorist leader resurfaces upon contacting Victor Pastore, which rings in fear of a new attack. The new task requires Lenoir’s hero to infiltrate Pastore’s organisation. While initiating the inside job isn’t too big of an ordeal for him, what lies inside turns things around entirely.

Still from the trailer.

As soon as action breaks out, Lenoir does what he’s best at by punching his way out, thereby affirming his station in Pastore’s empire. However, the following incidents push him closer to the boss’ son and eventually thread out an emotional bond between the two. He keeps getting pulled in more and more as the threats ahead endanger the young boy’s life, and everything takes a back seat while he plays the part of his bodyguard to keep him safe.

Jonathan, the young boy, is ultimately taken by the opposing charges that threaten to kill him. Lenoir’s job keeps getting twisted, pushing him into a predicament that makes him doubt his identity. While the movie is overtly packed as an action flick that stops at no point or offers mercy in any form to any character in the lot, the budding bond between Lenoir’s character and his new boss’ son keeps the storyline emotionally grounded.

It switches around the usual motif of Stockholm Syndrome used in such plots, wherein the protagonist falls for a woman belonging to the antagonist’s clan. However, the story takes a similar idea here but turns it around by moulding it using a heartwarming connection instead.
