Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 2 Reactions: “Funniest Episode Yet” Pushes Fans to Proclaim Rebecca Welton a “Queen”

Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 2 reactions are out on Twitter now that the third season premiere has hit the fans of the show in the feels. The Apple TV+ series has been developed by Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt and Joe Kelly. It stars Sudeikis as Lasso, Hunt as Coach Beard, Hannah Waddhingham as Rebecca Welton, Jeremy Swift as Leslie Higgins, Phil Dunster as Jamie Tartt, Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent, Nick Mohammed as Nathan Shelley, Juno Temple as Keeley Jones, and Anthony Head as Rupert Mannion alongside others.

Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 2, titled ‘(I Don’t Want to Go to) Chelsea’, dropped on the streaming platform on March 22, 2023. Its official synopsis reads: “News of a top player looking to move to London sends the English clubs into a frenzy. Richmond play their first game back in the Premier League.”

While the previous episode, aka the season premiere, had the fans crying about Keeley and Roy’s breakup, the new one has the whole Richmond team distraught over this matter, and rightly so. Seems like Ted knows why that may have happened and is even open to sharing it with Keeley when she’s ready.

Returning to the much-loved and fun-filled joyride that is the behind-the-scenes locker talk (I love how this show has completely turned around the toxic scenario), some hilarious scenes shared between the football team and their coaches. At the same time, Ted tried to introduce the idea of Trent Crimm joining their crew, leaving the audience in fits of laughter. Leaving the viewers with no choice but to declare this entry into the sports comedy catalogue as the “funniest episode yet”, Episode 2 brought on some major chaotic mayhem we all loved to watch and replay.

However, laughter is not the only thing this episode granted us; it also resulted in some moments that led our chests to swell up with pride for the one and only the boss of AFC Richmond, Rebecca Welton. The previous seasons of the show have briefly tried to talk about her insecurities each time around and how they all stem from having shared a relationship with Rupert Mannion. This time, she opened up and let Keeley and all of us into her thoughts as she delved into how Rupert knows how to get under someone’s skin as the opportunist charmer he is.

Endless streams of Tweets praising Hannah Waddhingham, the actress who proficiently dons her part as Rebecca, and the writers for writing such a rounded and nuanced character flooded the platform. The last few moments of the episode also got the fans emotional after hearing out Roy’s perspective on the sport he’s loved for so long. Moreover, some viewers well-versed in the actual Football know-how have joined the dots in their theories about the new player Zava’s reflective portrayal of the Swedish professional footballer, Zlatan Ibrahimović.
