Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Announcement: Kartik Aaryan Comes Back to Catch More Ghosts This Time Around

T-Series is back with another instalment of the fan-favourite classic, and Kartik Aaryan stuns in the new Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 announcement. Following the success of the sequel starring the aforementioned and Kiara Advani, producers Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar have joined once again to tell a new story with Rooh Baba at the centre. The sequel starred Aaryan, Advani, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, Ashwini Kalsekar, Sanjay Mishra, Mehak Manwani, Vyoma Nandi, Milind Gunaji, Rajesh Sharma, Karmveer Choudhary and Kaliprasad Mukherjee, alongside other cast members. However, in this one, the protagonist takes on a new challenge with the same flair.

In this unexpected announcement, the video shows the old haveli audiences left behind in peace. The signature song Ami Je Tomar starts playing, and we are once again thrust into the dark depths of the haveli and the cursed hallway that has trapped the ghost Manjulika. The next thing we see is Ruhan, aka Rooh Baba chilling in the room, rocking in the chair. He is in the normal religious garb that swayed hundreds of people last time, and this time it does not seem ironic.

Of course, the signature ghungroos make their appearance known, while Aaryan’s voiceover shares how some doors are closed only so they can be opened again. In the second film, there did seem to be a moment when a sequel could be possible, and perhaps this film explores the same angle. In the ruins of the room, filled with leaves and dingy lamps, Rooh Baba sits, adding another layer to the story that we could not have expected.

What was assumed to be a fluke has actually turned out to be true. Rooh Baba can not only speak to ghosts and see them, but this time, he can even be possessed by them. This development could have been laughed off as another clever scheme he concocted to get away unscathed from a sticky situation, but the glowing eyes tell a whole new story. Crazed laughter fills the frame as we truly take in Ruhan’s appearance clearly for the first time. Kartik Aaryan’s menacing smile is back; this time, he is not faking it.

In the last film, Rooh Baba was born out of a necessity to keep a dead woman’s spirit alive in the film. Because the female protagonist didn’t want to cause problems for her younger sister, she was urged to get married to the protagonist’s betrothed. Since a dead person cannot really make this statement by themselves, Rooh Baba was born to make sure that the family received her ‘last wishes.’ However, when things become more complicated, the family’s secrets unravel to share something sinister going on in the house.

The family gets caught up in a mess they do not know exists and an issue that the protagonists don’t know how to handle. While they do eventually figure out a solution, leading to a natural resolution, this film announcement leads viewers to believe that there is more unfinished business than anyone could have expected. The second film, too, was directed and produced by Anees Bazmee and Bhushan Kumar, respectively. It was written by Farhad Samji and Aakash Kaushik and came to theatres on May 22, 2022.
