The Eminence in Shadow Episode 19 Review: Proving Self Worth

The much-awaited 19th Episode of The Eminence in Shadow (陰の実力者になりたくて!) is here, and it has again managed to deliver a delightful watch. We got action, comedy and many more from this already cast-heavy series. So without further ado, let us jump right into this review.

The Eminence in Shadow Episode 19 Overview

Still From The Eminence in Shadow

This series has garnered quite the hype after its release. And the credit surely goes to good animation, a relatable male lead and a bunch of beautiful anime girls who are sure to start waifu wars.

The anime is directed by Nakanishi Kazuya, who is also famous for his work with Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai SeikatsuTrinity SevenStrike the Blood, etc. Nexus studio is handling the animation, which despite not being very famous in its field, is delivering satisfactory results as of now.

I have tried my best to keep the review as spoiler free as possible, but there are certain elements that I had to mention to give proper feedback.

The Eminence in Shadow Episode 19 Review and Recap – Battle Of Egos

Still From The Eminence in Shadow

The 19th episode of The Eminence in Shadow is here, and we are back with another review. The episode opens by showing us the past of Princess Iris. She is someone who has always wanted to become the best from a young age. Even as a child, she would defeat her opponents seamlessly and strive to do better every time. But still, at times, her father would not agree with her suggestions regarding their stand on The Divine Teachings, which is why she wants to prove herself once and for all.

On the other hand, Perv Asshat is planning something very serious that can shake both the Oriana Kingdom and the Midgar Kingdom. He is using a sort of drug to control the king of Oriana wanting to use him as an active member of the Cult of Diablos. Not only does he want to take down Oriana Kingdom, but he’s also planning to put a puppet king over Midgar Kingdom by killing the original king. He also talks about a certain key that he wanted Princess Rose to hand over to him, but before that, she escaped.

Along with that, Asshat reveals that he wants to set his plan in motion at the last battle between Princess Iris and Mundanne Man. But we see his concern regarding the mysterious Mundanne, who no one knows about and is an anomaly to his equation.

Not just that, but when Asshat enters the arena with the king, Beatrix, the goddess of war, who is also present at the VIP lounge along with Princess Iris, gets disturbed by the sickeningly sweet smell coming from the king of Orianna. Asshat decides to wipe all of these problems for his plan.

Later, Princess Iris finally gets ready for her showdown against Mundanne Man, and what follows is some of the greatest battle sequences ever shown in this anime. The episode starts off light, but by the end, it turns intense, bloody and gripping. I will not spoil more about the second segment of the episode, so I highly recommend everyone to go and watch it.

Verdict

This is the second last episode of this season, and it ended as it should. The conclusion of this episode creates enough anticipation for its watchers to curse at the cliffhanger at the end. I definitely want to see the last episode as soon as possible and discover what happens next. Watch this anime on Netflix.
