Happy Birthday Silambarasan: STR’s Top Dance Numbers and Vocals to Appreciate and Cherish

Tags: song dance simbu

Happy Birthday Silambarasan, aka STR, the former little superstar of Kollywood. Debuting as a child artist in the movie Uravai Kaatha Kili directed by his father, T Rajender, STR isn’t just an actor but a pro dancer, singer, songwriter, composer, scriptwriter, and so much more. Silambarasan is also widely known as Simbu and is loved for his high-key potential. He is also considered the shapeshifter of Kollywood because if he determines to reduce his weight or bulk it up, he does it with so much willpower.

When Simbu had a downfall in his acting career, he made a massive comeback with Chekka Chivandha Vaanam. However, he looked completely different, and fans worried that the actor wasn’t in his best healthy body. To give his fans a visual feast, Simbu literally slimmed down like his early 90s and starred in the box office hit Maanadu, proving once again to the world how capable he is.

On such an incredible artist’s birthday, let’s remember some of his evergreen songs where he flexes his moves and vocals. Here is a list specially made by us to honour the prodigy.

Silambarasan’s Top Dance and Vocal Numbers

There are so many songs that STR has composed, sung, written the lyrics and danced, but this list will carry only the ones he has both sung and danced. Enjoy watching STR’s fantastic skills below.

Pottu Thakku

Simbu was only in his 20s when he gave the crowd a mega-hit song Pottu Thakku. Produced by Srikanth Deva, Silambarasan’s hyped folk dance, along with Ramyakrishnan, is still loved by the Tamil crowd. What’s more impressive is the powerful voice of the actor, making the song versatile and complete.

I Am A Kutthu Dancer

As the name suggests, STR simply dedicated a song to the legendary South Indian dance style “Kutthu”, sang it and danced at ease. His floor movements are undeniably good, and his chemistry with the actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar stole the viewers’ hearts. Truly, Silambarasan is a sensation who brings top-notch content to his fans.

Yammadi Athadi

One of STR’s famous movies, Vallavan, featured a great dance song featuring two actresses Reema Sen and Nayanthara. Simbu, who loves an older woman, is disturbed by his psycho ex-girlfriend— that is very much the plot. However, this song features both the ladies to show how cool the guy is worked exceptionally well. Have fun grooving to the iconic lyrics and tune.

Vechukavva

Silambarasan’s costumes, voice, and glorious steps were wholesome to watch in this particular song. While the movie featured other dance numbers, Vechukkava particularly became the movie’s spotlight due to the man making unusual moves on the floor. Fans seriously wonder how he can smoothly work out such hard choreographies!

Loosu Penne

If you’re a South Indian, you’d know that even a small kid will vibe to Loosu Penne, the celebrated break-up song. STR did not just bring a new “dangling hand” step into the Kollywood industry but a whole new couture. He was seen wearing a black thread bracelet, finger gloves and so on his hands, which became the fashion statement of Tamil Nadu.

Thathai Thathai

Clubs and parties can’t end without playing this song ever! Simbu starred as a playboy serial killer who murders women that cheat men in his hit movie, Manmadhan. While he played a notorious and gruesome character, his fans still loved him for his extraordinary dance moves. In that particular decade, nobody ate up the dance floor like Simbu did.

Love Panlama

Here is a song where the romantic star asks whether he should fall in love. Nobody expected such a peppy futuristic song from him. As Podaa Podi was his breakthrough comeback, the star provided too many good soundtracks featuring his exemplary dance moves. Proceed to watch this video and fall in love with his dance breaks and abs- good Lord!

En Aasai Mythiliye

This, my friends, is South India’s pride when it comes to an actor and actress’ dance song. Nobody can replace Jyothika and Simbu’s dance battle at the song’s end. We never knew we needed this song, yet we deserved it. Two classic actors killing it on the stage is mindblowing to watch. Oh, Simbu’s hoarse voice…you’ll love it.

Kutti Pisase

Winding up our list with Silambarasan’s Kutti Pisase song, where the star came with a whole new avatar! His long hair and his fashion once again made the crowd crazy. Simbu is honestly not just a dancer or singer, he is good at everything. Watch the wholesome video and vibe to the song.

Happy Birthday Silambarasan: A Word From Us

We once again wish the rocking star a Happy Birthday as he turns 40 today. STR clearly is reversing in age and glowing like a fine wine. May the legend keep producing excellent movies and songs and stun the crowd with his powerful dance skills.
