The trailer starts off by showing us the eligible singles in the villa, hoping to find a true love connection in this reality series. They are all dressed in bathing suits showing off their bodies, ready to entice people within the show to go out with them. This dating competition is about to get serious as contestants have already warned their competitors to keep an eye on their partners in case they are swept up by a charming eleigible bachelor.

Netflix’s description of the show reads, “Couples who prove their compatibility gain the power to make or break other matches in this strategic and seductive dating competition.” These dating competitions are selectively chosen to gauge the couple’s compatibility and their ability to think like a unit in the situations. When they win, contestants are allowed to go to the drawing board and change up pairings in order to increase their odds in the game. Couples who win also get an opportunity to go on a special date by themselves.

The winners are chosen by the couples themselves. There is already drama and tension when it comes to a show like this, however, the prospect of thrusting the decision-making power to someone who can clearly ruin your chances of winning if they don’t like you is one that makes the show even more enticing for audiences.

As someone rightly mentioned, this show is The Hunger Games but for dating. Couples are seen getting dunked with water, writing up things that are cringe or cool, and making out with people out in the open, unabashedly declaring war. We see contestants speak about their dates, call out others on their hypocritical personalities, and some use their conventionally good-looking bodies to make a statement in their courtship.

Difficult conversations take place by the poolside while others come and explain their actions during the personal interviews. Awkwardness and rejection already run high, but the real question is whether these people will find love in this Panamanian villa. The trailer encapsulates the prospect of dating someone new for a real connection and turns it into a game waiting to be witnessed by people all over the world. There may be many legendary loves in the past, but in this show, only one couple will be crowned the Perfect Match.
