Faraway Trailer takes us on a journey to a remote Croatian Island, where the upcoming film’s lead will rediscover the joys of her life. It is an upcoming German romantic comedy which is based on the screenplay by Jane Ainscough and the story is brought to life by director Vanessa Jopp (The Space Between the Lines) along with cinematographer Eva Katharina Bühler and producer Viola Jäger of Olga Film.
The official synopsis reads, “After inheriting a house on a Croatian Island, a woman embarks on a spur-of-the-moment trip that reignites her joy in life and opens a door to new love.” Zeynep is unhappy as her life has not turned out as she wanted. That’s why she flees to a Croatian island, where her deceased mother bought a house long ago. She hopes to find peace and relaxation finally – but she hasn’t reckoned with Josip, who still lives on the property.
The cast of the film includes Naomi Krauss, Goran Bogdan, Adnan Maral, Bahar Balci, Vedat Erincin, Artjom Gilz, Davor Tomić, Mladen Vasari, Paula Schramm and Christian Schneller.

Zeynep Altin is at the end of her rope: she’s overworked and underappreciated by her husband, daughter and ageing father, and to top it all off, the funeral home has just put her beloved deceased mother in a man’s suit instead of her favourite dress. It’s the final straw for Zeynep, who escapes Munich for the Croatian island cottage her mother secretly bought years ago, hoping to get some peace and quiet and find herself again.
Zeynep, hoping the same, decides on an impulse to visit that cottage. However, even that starts with a rough patch as the way to this remote place is a struggle in itself. Somehow, she finally reaches the supposed place but it wasn’t what she expected – if only the former owner, Josip, an islander through and through, wasn’t still living on the same property.
From waking up naked next to a stranger (Josip), to discovering some extraordinary things and experiences on the island, Zeynep is determined to see what her mother would have wanted and in the process, find happiness in her own life as well. A short trip turns out to be much more and might even become her permanent home, which we will be finding out in the film.
