Tokyo Revengers Season 2 Episode 3 Review: Spilling The Beans

The 3rd Episode of the 2nd season of this much-loved series is finally here, and we saw the story unfold in new directions. So, how did this episode fare anyways? Find out below.

Tokyo Revengers Season 2 Episode 3 Overview

Still From Tokyo Revengers Season 2

When the first season ended, fans felt endless frustration because of the massive cliffhanger of the last episode that left many questions unanswered. This is why the hype around this anime is insane, and we are sure it will live up to it.

Director Hatsumi Kouichi, who also worked in anime like Darling in the FranXX, Deadman Wonderland, Hunter x Hunter, etc, will handle the direction for the series. Studio LIDENFILMS which handled the first season of this anime will be returning for this season. They have worked on Koi to Uso, Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches, Yofukashi no Uta, etc.

The opening song will be White Noise (ホワイトノイズ), performed by Official HIGE DANdism, and the ending theme will be Kizutsu kedo, Aishiteru. (傷つけど、愛してる。), performed by TUYU.

I have tried my best to keep the review as spoiler free as possible, but there are certain elements that I had to mention to give proper feedback.

Tokyo Revengers Season 2 Episode 3 Review and Recap – New Directions

Another episode of Tokyo Revengers is here, and we are back again with a review of how this episode went. The episode opens up with Hakkai shivering with terror in front of his brother.

Still From Tokyo Revengers Season 2

He understands that it was mostly his fault for inviting his newly made friend to his house, where his demon of a big brother lives as well. And because that said brother is the leader of Black Dragon, he definitely shouldn’t have taken Takemichi, one of the Toman captains, to the lion’s den.

But after witnessing the brutal thrashing that his brother bestows upon Takemichi, Hakkai finally goes in front of him and puts a bargain that Taiju cannot refuse. He knows Taiju wants him in the Black Dragon, serving under him. And thus, in exchange for Takemichi’s life, he offers just that.

But the situation is nowhere near okay, as now Takemichi clearly understands what might have happened in the future for Hakkai to turn evil. He deduces that Hakkai must have joined the Black Dragons, and to end the tyranny of his brother, Hakkai must have killed him. But Takemichi also realizes that if a brute like Taiju runs the gang, then also a bad future can come around. So he concludes that he might have to go against the whole Black Dragon to solve this problem.

Later, when he wakes up from a much-needed rest after being a punching bag for Taiju, Takemichi sees his friends and most importantly, Chifuyu again. Obviously, our protagonist becomes emotional as this would be the man who would take a bullet for him in the future.

From Chifuyu, we get more information about the current Black Dragon gang and how deep their connection with Toman goes. Initially, Toman was created because of Black Dragon when Kazutora got into trouble with them. There was a time Toman defeated every one of this gang, but things are different now. Currently, Taiju is the leader of the 10th generation of this bunch, which is stronger than the previous one.

Verdict

In this episode, the plot thickens, and we get a bit more details on what we are dealing with. Perhaps the most shocking twist of this episode was when Takemichi spilled the beans to Chifuyu. But what he said and how much he said, you need to find it out after watching this episode. Watch this anime on Hulu.
