1. Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3
The Guardians, consisting of Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot, are known for their wit, humour, and heart, and can be regarded as a fan-favourite team in the MCU. Moreover, after much delay, the third and final instalment of the intergalactic franchise will release on 5th May 2023.
The film is helmed by James Gunn and will star Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Will Poulter, Elizabeth Debicki, Sylvester Stallone, Sean Gunn, Maria Bakalova in titular roles.
2. The Marvels
The Marvels is an exciting new addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe that brings together three powerful female superheroes: Carol Danvers, also known as Captain Marvel, Kamala Khan, also known as Ms Marvel, and Monica Rambeau. The film, directed by Nia DaCosta and written by Megan McDonnell, follows these three women as they discover that they can swap places with each other every time they use their powers. As they navigate this strange new ability, they must also team up to face off against a new threat to the world.
Brie Larson, who has already won critical acclaim for her portrayal of Carol Danvers in the 2019 film Captain Marvel, reprises her role as the titular hero in The Marvels. She is joined by Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, a teenage Pakistani-American who discovers she has shape-shifting powers and becomes the newest iteration of Ms Marvel, and Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, a character who has the ability to transform into pure energy and has previously appeared in the MCU as a child in Captain Marvel. The film also features the return of fan-favourite character Nick Fury, played by Samuel L. Jackson.
The film will release in theatres starting on 28th July 2023.
3. Kraven the Hunter
Kraven the Hunter is an upcoming addition to the Spider-Man Universe (SSU) and the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film follows the titular character, a skilled hunter and assassin who becomes obsessed with defeating Spider-Man. Kraven, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, sets out on a mission to prove he is the greatest hunter in the world by tracking down and defeating the web-slinging hero.
Alongside Taylor-Johnson, the film also stars Ariana DeBose as a mysterious and powerful ally of Kraven and Fred Hechinger as Peter Parker aka the Spider-Man. Directed by J. C. Chandor and written by Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Richard Wenk, Kraven the Hunter promises to be a thrilling and action-packed addition to the SSU and the MCU.
Fans of the Spider-Man series and the Marvel Cinematic Universe will not want to miss Kraven the Hunter, which is set to release on October 6th, 2023.
4. Loki Season 2
The second season of the popular television series Loki is set to return in 2023, much to the excitement of Marvel Cinematic Universe fans. The show, which first premiered in 2021, follows the god of mischief as he navigates life after his escape in Avengers Endgame.
While details about the plot and cast of the second season are currently being kept under wraps, fans can expect more mischievous antics and thrilling action from the god of trickery. With the success of the first season, the second season of Loki is sure to build on its predecessor and deliver even more exciting adventures for fans of the series and the MCU. Moreover, the second season will premiere during the mid part of 2023.
5. Secret Invasion
The upcoming miniseries will definitely strike a resonating chord with the fans of the MCU and the Secret Invasion storyline, which follows a group of shape-shifting aliens who infiltrate and take over various organizations on Earth. Furthermore, the series features an all-star cast, including Samuel L. Jackson reprising his role as Nick Fury from the film series, Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, Cobie Smulders, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman, Martin Freeman, and Don Cheadle. It is slated to release in the early part of the year.
6. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is a highly anticipated upcoming film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and follows the trajectory of Scott Lang (played by Paul Rudd) as he encounters the prime villain of MCU’s current phase- Kang the Conqueror. The film is scheduled to release in theatres starting on February 17th 2023.
