Korean Dramas Releasing in January 2023: The New Year is almost here and we are ready to welcome new hope, new expectations and new Kdramas! While we slowly flow into the new year with some ongoing shows, let us also look forward to another year that will bring us all new kinds of irresistible entertainment straight from South Korea.

2023 is ready with some new Kdramas as well as a whole new season of some of our favourite dramas, so while the year is ready with a whole bundle of surprises for us all, let’s hold up our excitement and get ready for what the first month of the year has in store for us!

Brain Works

Bringing together a team consisting of a neuroscientist, a detective and a hypnotic investigator, this drama will take you through a thrilling mystery ride that will start your 2023 will a big laugh. This 16 episodes show is all set to begin your new year with a blast as it brings mystery and comedy together.

Directed by Lee Jin-seo, the Drama Stars Jung Yong-hwa, Cha Tae-hyun, Kwak Sun-young, Ye Ji-won, Jung Dong-hwan, and Woo Hyun, alongside other Cast Members. The drama will be broadcasted on KBS2.

January 4

Run Into You

Two people get the chance to travel back in time and while they go back to the year 1987 with different goals in mind, their objective seems to be the same. This sci-fi mystery romance will bring you to the past but with the objective to change the future of two people who comes across by chance.

Directed by Kang Soo-yeon, the drama stars Kim Dong-wook, Jin Ki-joo, Seo Ji-hye, Lee Won-jung, Lee Ji-hyun, and Lee Kyu-hoe, alongside other cast members. The drama will be broadcasted on KBS2.

Payback

The revenge of a group of people who are ready to face unjust authorities and fight against a cartel conspiring with the law in a way like never before. Revenge thriller dramas always make us eager for what is to come and this is a show that is to look forward to.

Directed by Lee Won-tae, the drama stars Lee Sun-kyun, Moon Chae-won, Kang Yoo-seok, Park Hoon, Kim Hong-pa, and Kim Mi-sook, alongside other cast members. The drama will be broadcasted on SBS.

A business drama that brings out the real struggle that goes on behind the scenes is what this drama will bring as it follows the life of a woman who became the first female executive in her group. This show is to bring out a sense of amazement as we see the reality of life instead of the flowers and butterflies.

Directed by Lee Chang-min, the drama stars Lee Bo-young, Jo Sung-ha, Son Na-eun, Hang Joon-woo, Jeon Hye-jin, and Jang Hyun-sung, alongside other cast members. The drama is set to premiere on jTBC.

Poong the Joseon Psychiatrist 2

The Joseon psychiatrist is back to complete his story as he reunites with his Gyesu clinic family and with Wun-woo. This 10 episodes sequel is here to finally bring an end to the show to leave us happy and content once and for all.

Directed by Park Won-gook and Kang Hee-ju, the drama stars Kim Min-jae, Kim Hyang-gi, Kim Sang-kyung, Kang Young-seok, Woo Da-vi, and Ahn Chang-hwan, alongside other cast members. The sequel will premiere on tvN.

Crash Course in Romance

Who doesn’t like a good romantic comedy, with 2023 all set to begin with one of our favourite genres a hilarious love story between two private instructors is almost here for us all. This romcom brings together two people with opposing personalities and popularity together when one of them decides to enter the other’s professional field.

Directed by Yoo Je-won, the drama stars Jeon Do-yeon, Jung Kyung-ho, Lee Bong-ryun, Oh Eui-shik, Shin Jae-ha, and Roh Yoon-seo, alongside other cast members. The drama is set to broadcast on tvN.

January 27

Kokdu: Season of Diety

Grim Reapers are back again and this time in a medical fantasy that is ready to keep us entertained with 16 episodes. With 49 days of vacation, a grim reaper possesses the body of a human and meets a female doctor who has the ability to order him around.

Directed by Baek Soo-chan and Kang Yi-hun, the drama stars Kim Jung-hyun, Im Soo-hyang, Kim Da-som, Ahn Woo-yeon, Cha Chung-hwa, and Kim In-kwon, alongside other cast members. The drama will broadcast on MBC and will be available for streaming on Viki.
