Planning to Watch The Glory? All About Netflix’s Revenge Drama

The Glory (더 글로리) is an upcoming South Korean drama film that is written by Kim Eun-sook (Guardian: The Lonely and Great God and Mr Sunshine) and directed by Ahn Gil-ho of Stranger and Happiness, the plot of the series will centre around a woman seeking revenge on her childhood bullies.

The series will contain a total of 8 episodes with a running time of approximately 60 minutes each. The director also announced that Part 2 of the series will release in 2023. The genre of the series is thriller-suspense and received an 18+ rating due to the display of explicit content.

The Glory Cast

Song Hye-Kyo as Moon Dong-eun and Lee Do-Hyun as Joo Yeo-Jung are the series’ lead actors. The rest of the supporting and recurring cast includes Lim Ji-yeon as Park Yeon-jin, Yum Hye-ran as Kang Hyun-Nam, Park Sung-hoon as Jeon Jae-joon, Jung Sung-II as Ha Do-young, Kim Hieora as Lee Sa-ra, Cha Joo-young as Choi Hye-Jung, Kim Gun-woo as Son Myung-O, Jung Ji-So as the younger version of Moon Dong-eun, Shin Ye-Eun as the younger version of Park Yeon-Jin and Son Sook.

The Glory Plot/Synopsis

The official description of the series reads as follows:

Years after surviving horrific abuse in high school, a woman puts an elaborate revenge scheme in motion to make the perpetrators pay for their crimes.

The plot of the series is about a woman whose childhood dream of becoming a successful architect was crushed due to rampant bullying. Unable to tolerate the torment anymore, she decided to drop out of high school. The trauma of being abused deeply affected her, and now she is looking for revenge on her abuser and bystanders who did nothing to save her.

For years she cooks up a perfect plan that she eagerly waits to initiate. She waits for her abuser to grow up and make a family of his own. Coincidently, she becomes the homeroom teacher of the daughter of her abuser, and from there on, her cruel revenge plot begins. It is a classic story about how hatred can control one’s life.
