His Dark Materials Season 3 Episode 5 and 6 Review

Everything we have ever known about Phillip Pullman’s beautiful book series comes to life in the latest episodes of His Dark Materials Season 3, from Mulefa being introduced to Marisa going through her most convincing and important character development.

His Dark Materials Season 3 Episode 5 opens with Mary finding the Mulefa and discovering how Dust is disappearing at an alarming rate. The cause remains unknown and we delve towards the other stories kept open in the show- Lyra-Will and Marisa at the Magesterium. Lyra and Will visit the Land of the Dead which is a ghost Nazi camp for all the dead. It is haunted by Harpies and the happiness is truly, truly dead. Irrespective of that, Lyra and Will, like always, plan to do the impossible- bring some life into the world and make them leave the grim world behind.

Marisa is trapped by Father MacPhail, who just keeps his character arc rolling and slowly becomes one of the most villainous characters in the show. He wants Marisa to pay and, will do that no matter what, even if it means severing Marisa from her daemon. But, every action has an equal and opposite reaction which is what ultimately goes down in the fifth episode.

But, in reality, Lyra is alive, healthy, thriving and on the way to fulfilling her prophecy, once and for all with Will.
