Directed by Jeff Nicholas, Mud is a psychological thriller. As the name suggests, it is the story of Mud, played by Matthew McConaughey who promises to help two teenagers stuck on an island in the Mississippi River in exchange of food.

The film received multiple awards and was named in the Top 10 Films of 2013 by the National Board of Review. The Village Voice describes McConaughey’s performance in the movie as, “the latest in McConaughey’s campaign for reconsideration as a great American actor”.
