Barbarians Season 2 Ending Explained: Did the Romans Kidnap Ari’s Child?: The new Historical Netflix show is about the revolt of the Germania tribes against the Roman occupation during the latter half of 9 AD. The consecutive season starts on a strong note, with the aim to unite the tribes and destroy the Roman Camp before the arrival of heavy reinforcement.

Barbarians Season 2 Ending Explained

The epic finale of season 2 starts with the united Germanic tribe fighting together under the banner of their leaders Arminius(Played by Laurence Rupp) and Marbod. Once again, the Barbarians concede an edge against the Romans by attacking from an unexpected entrance. This soon turns into a gory fight with revenge and blood, spilling all over the place.

Ari’s brother Flavus gets free from the prison Pitt and starts fighting with his fellow soldiers. However, he makes the immediate decision of killing a Roman in an attempt to save Marbod. Eventually, Flavus gets stabbed by the dying Roman and falls to the ground.

On the other hand, Germanicus flees away unwillingly with Tiberius and leaves the rest of the Roman army fighting on the ground. It is revealed that the King of the occupation had other plans in mind to dismantle the Barbarian hierarchy. But before that Folkwin dies on the battleground and confronts Ari with a promise.

Folkwin’s dying wish for Ari was to safeguard his child like it was the fellow barbarians’ own blood. Moreover, he also mentions that the only reason he hated Ari, was due to his overpowering love for the former Roman.

After Folkwin dies, it almost looks like the Barbarians have won the battle, as the reinforcement are making their way back to the Roman Empire. However, Tiberius plots a wicked plan to weaken the Barbarian line and is caught by Thusnelda in the process.

Thusnelda’s parent sells off their grandchild to Tiberius, and in turn, are executed by the cruel occupation king. Moreover, Tiberius plans to kidnap the child and his mother together and bring them to Rome. Ultimately, the series ends with a powerful monologue from Thusnelda, which states that Men will go to any extent just to win their wars. Even if it means destroying others and their children.
