Raksha Bandhan is the day where the siblings unite wholeheartedly (a rare occasion) and show the person, who also shares your parents, some love. Some siblings are like the best of friends, while others are devils in disguise, whatever might be the case, they are your family whom you can turn up to, anytime. Just like that, we have listed some of the best fictional siblings portrayed in movies, that might remind you of your own and even better to watch together.

Little Women (2019)

Little Women is one of the classic films that is based on the love and bond between the siblings. Having been adapted many times it is the seventh Film adaptation of the 1868 novel of the same name by Louisa May Alcott. This coming-of-age period drama film is written and directed by Greta Gerwig.

The synopsis of the film reads, “Determined to make her own way in the 1860s, a writer looks back at the tough yet tender times spent with her three spirited sisters and a close friend.” And with a star cast consisting of Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, Laura Dern, Timothée Chalamet, Meryl Streep and others, do we even need any other reason to watch?

Josh (2000)

Josh is a romantic action film directed and co-written by Mansoor Khan. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Chandrachur Singh and Sharad Kapoor. The movie has some plot points inspired by the 1961 film West Side Story.

It is about the bitter rivalry between the eagle and the bicchoo gang of Goa that will spark the feelings of love between Shirley and Rahul as their brothers duke it out. It was the fifth highest-grossing film of 2000 in India. In the film, we get to see the young Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, as adorable siblings, when they had just started their careers.

Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na (2008)

It is a romantic comedy film written and directed by Abbas Tyrewala and produced by Mansoor Khan and Aamir Khan. The film is famously known for its portrayal of a group of best friends and the budding love between them. Where Soft-spoken Jai and spitfire beauty Aditi couldn’t be more different – but their family and friends know that they’re a perfect match.

The central plot may be based on best friends, but the portrayal of siblings between Aditi and her brother Amit (played by Prateik Babbar) is one of the cutest as well. They fight, and tease each other but always protect and care for one another. The film launched the careers of many of its star cast including Imran Khan, Genelia D’Souza, Manjari Fadnis, Ayaz Khan, Prateik Babbar and many others.

Onward (2020)

It is an animated urban fantasy adventure film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The film was directed by Dan Scanlon, produced by Kori Rae and written by Scanlon, Jason Headley, and Keith Bunin. The characters are in the voices of Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Octavia Spencer.

The story is set in a suburban fantasy world, where the film follows two elf brothers named Ian and Barley Lightfoot who set out on a quest to find an artefact that will temporarily bring back their deceased father for 24 hours before it is too late. The film is like a roller coaster which will take you on a journey and make you cherish your siblings more.

Frozen (2013)

Frozen is an animated musical fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. It is inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale titled, The Snow Queen. The film depicts a princess who sets off on a journey alongside an iceman, his reindeer and a snowman named Olaf to find her estranged sister, whose icy powers have inadvertently trapped their kingdom in eternal winter.

Released in 2013, this film is known by everyone and the song Let it go instantly becomes everyone’s favourite from kids to adults trying to reach the high notes during karaoke. Due to its immense success, another feature-length sequel, Frozen II, was also released in November 2019.

The pure bond between the sisters and the song ‘do you wanna build a snowman‘ always makes everyone emotional and it is considered to be Disney’s best-animated film. Watch this film on Disney+.

The Addams Family (1991)

It is a supernatural black comedy film based on the characters from the cartoon created by cartoonist Charles Addams and the 1964 TV series produced by David Levy. The film focuses on a bizarre, macabre, aristocratic family who reconnects with what they believe to be a long-lost relative, Gomez’s brother Fester Addams, who is actually the adopted son of a loan shark intending to swindle the Addams clan out of its vast wealth and fortune.

The cast includes Anjelica Huston as Morticia Addams, Raul Julia as Gomez Addams and Christopher Lloyd as Fester Addams. Meanwhile, Christina Ricci as Wednesday Addams and Jimmy Workman as Pugsley Addams, the siblings who like to play with guillotines and dynamite, even nearly killing each other many times.

But still, they have the best relationship void of any rivalry. Their amazing parents may seem creepy but they have brought them up just right. Watch this film on Amazon Prime Video.
