The Little Women teaser is out now and fans are loving this new twist to the classic story. Serving as an adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s iconic novel of the same name, which has been adapted time and again, this upcoming drama will rather follow the thriller genre than completely rely on being a drama.
Little Women is being helmed by Kim Hee-won, who is best known for the revenge-thriller Vincenzo on Netflix. His other works include K-dramas like the 2019 release The Crowned Clown and the 2017 series Money Flower. Jeong Seo-kyung, who has worked in critically acclaimed Korean films such as Handmaiden (2016) and Thirst (2009) will serve as the screenwriter for the show.
The titular cast of the drama is made up of Yumi’s Cells’ Kim Go-eun, Nam Ji-hyun from 100 Days My Prince and the breakthrough actor from All Of Us Are Dead, Park Ji-hu. They will be joined by Wi Ha-jun from Squid Game as a supporting cast member.

The Little Women teaser introduces us to three sisters, who unknowingly come across a bag containing 70 billion won. With poverty making their lives miserable and difficult, luck seems to have played its card. However, taking in the money also means inviting conspiracies and some threatening connections to a wealthy and rich family.
The teaser description for the upcoming show reads: “Three sisters, who only have each other and never enough money, get entangled in a conspiracy involving the rich and powerful.” It is apparent that this adaptation is going to be the modern retelling of the classic. So even if the themes and the characters match between the book and the upcoming drama, it isn’t necessary that both will follow the same course of the narrative.

The show is slated to arrive on Netflix on September 3, 2022. Initially, the project was supposed to arrive a week earlier than its given release date. The tvN drama will air at 9:10 PM KST on every Saturday and Sunday on tvN. It will also be streaming on Netflix in selected regions.
