Brahmastra’s Kesariya Song: Love Storiya Memes Have Created Laughter Riot on Social Media

Brahmastra Part One: Shiva has finally dropped the first song of the movie ‘Kesariya’. The song stars the newly wedded Bollywood couple as they show their impeccable chemistry. The song instantly won over the internet, as fans are eager to see the couple on screen. But it seems like the lyrics of their Love ballad have left many fans with bad taste.

The music of the Kesariya song is given by Pritam, lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya and voiced by Arijit Singh with additional vocals from Nikhita Gandhi. The movie is produced by Fox Star Studios, Dharma Productions, Prime Focus and Starlight Pictures and the track has been released by Sony Music India.

The upcoming fantasy-adventure film is written and directed by Ayan Mukerji. It stars Ranbir Kapoor as Shiva and Alia Bhatt as Isha alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Dimple Kapadia, Divyendu Sharma, Dhruv Sehgal, Saurav Gurjar and Shah Rukh Khan (in a cameo appearance).

The melodious song Kesariya shows Kapoor’s character proclaiming his love for Bhatt’s character, as they travel together in a boat to a temple. Added with some more lovely moments of the couple from the film. The lyrics are like a love letter that tell Shiva’s feelings for Isha and how could someone not fall in love with her.

However, there comes the part in the lyrics that says ‘Kaajal ki Siyaahi se likhi Hain tu ne jaane, Kitnon ki love storiyaan’ which has taken the internet through a storm. When the snippet of the song was released many were excited to hear the potential love anthem of the year, until, they heard the following lines of the song.

Social media has been abuzz with memes that are making fun of the rhyming word ‘love storiyaan’. People are questioning the lyricist over the choice of words and even coming up with their own version of the lyrics. Personally, I don’t really mind the word but it surely seems like an odd addition and would have been better if replaced by some appropriate Hindi word.
