Anatomy of a Scandal follows the story of James Whitehouse, a Cabinet minister who lands himself in a scandalous reveal that he had an extramarital affair with his parliamentary researcher, Olivia. His wife Sophie Miller is shaken by the cheating but remains unperturbed on the front to support James. However, what was thought of as a small hiccup turns out to be a serious matter when he is accused of rape by Olivia. Things start to take a different route as James’ life is pulled apart in past and present.

The series is based on Sarah Vaughan’s bestselling novel of the same name. Directed by David E. Kelley, Melissa James Gibson and starring Sienna Miller, Rupert Friend, Michelle Dockery, Naomi Scott, and Josette Simon, the series is available to stream on Netflix. Read our review here.

Pieces of Her (2022)

Pieces of Her is based on the acclaimed Karen Slaughter novel by the same name. Created by Charlotte Stoudt, starring Toni Collette and Bella Heathcote as a mother-daughter duo, the story follows a woman who pieces together her mother’s dark past after a violent attack in their small town brings hidden threats and deadly secrets to light. Equinox (2020)

Equinox is a drama mystery series created by Tea Lindeburg and starring Danica Curcic, Lars Brygmann, Karoline Hamm and others. The series is based on Tia Lindeburg’s podcast Equinox 1985. The story is about Astrid who is haunted by visions, after her sister Ida vanished with her classmates 21 years before, without any trace. Thus, Astrid begins an investigation that uncovers the dark, eerie truth that will make you raise your eyebrows due to its bizarreness. The Twelve (2019)

The Twelve is another Flemish series which shows us a different take on thrilling courtroom drama. The protagonist Frie Palmers, played by Maaike Cafmeyer, has two homicides pinned on her, these two cases are eighteen years apart. The first one was the Jan 1, 2000 murder of her best friend, Brechtje Vindevogel (Lynn Van Royen) and the second is the death of her 2-year-old daughter Roos (Estelle Sys) in 2016.

In the series, twelve jurors, who are ordinary people with struggles of their own, must decide the case of a woman accused of killing her best friend and her own daughter. Apart from the lead, we are introduced to the jurors and their lives as well, in order to show what biases and other experiences play into their observations and verdict. I Know What You Did Last Summer (2021)

I Know What You Did Last Summer is an Amazon Prime series, starring Brianne Tju, Ezekiel Goodman, Bill Heck, Madison Iseman, Sebastian Amoruso, Ashley Moore, Fiona Rene, and Brooke Bloom. It follows the story of a group of teenagers enjoying their graduation night which rather ends up in a tragedy. They hit someone with their car and the person dies on the spot. But instead of reporting the crime, they all hide the dead body in a cave. One year later, one of the group members starts getting texts and threats from someone who saw what they did last Summer. The A List (2018)

The A List is a teen thriller series created by Dan Berlinka and Nina Metivier. The series is set on a secluded island called Peregrine Island and follows the story of a girl, Mia, who discovers that their summer home harbours dangerous secrets and the danger is lurking in their camp dressed as one of them. There are currently two seasons of the show and you can watch it on Netflix.
