The Greatest Demon Lord Is Reborn As A Typical Nobody Episode 7 Review: Lazy Writing And Nothing Else!

Every school-based anime would be incomplete without doing the episodes related to the school festival. And that time is finally here in The Greatest Demon Lord Is Reborn As A Typical Nobody Episode 7. From various events to competitions set up for this occasion, how will Ard’s day at the festival go? Will he find some threat? Or his closest would challenge his patience? Let’s find out more in this review!

The Greatest Demon Lord Is Reborn As A Typical Nobody Episode 7 Overview

The Greatest Demon Lord Is Reborn as a Typical Nobody, or Shijou Saikyou no Daimaou Murabito A ni Tensei suru in Japanese, is an action and fantasy anime belonging to the overpowered demon king trying to fulfil his goal after being reincarnated as a human. It is based on a light novel written by Myoujin Katou and illustrated by Sao Mizunou. This episode of the show is also referred to as Shijou Saikyou no Daimaou Murabito A ni Tensei suru Episode 7.

The anime adaptation is developed by Studio Silver Link, an outfit that has produced many other anime such as The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated, Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World, and The Misfit of Demon King Academy. The show is directed by Mirai Minato, the director behind several shows like Bofuri: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, So I’ll Max Out My Defense, Circlet Princess, and Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World.

The Greatest Demon Lord Is Reborn As A Typical Nobody Episode 7 Review- The School Festival Is A Bust

After the 3000 years in a cave, Sylphy is now a part of the student body at the Academy of Magic after joining the show in the previous episode. She revered Lydia in the past and sees her in Ireena, calling her “big sister” and following her every command. Ard and Olivia seem to know her immature and aggressive ways, confirming Sylphy’s origin story.

But Sylphy was not the only new character to be introduced. We saw a masked man who seemed to be well-informed about the events that happened all those years ago, as well as the current happenings. He even knows Ard’s true identity. Who is this man? Keeping him shrouded in mystery should have created an air of fear and anticipation. But after the Frenzied King Of Dragons, Elzard, no threat seems dangerous.

Still, the news of someone lurking around has reached the headmaster of the greatest Academy of Magic, and he is worried about the school festival. And that’s how the weight of the academy’s security during such a busy time fell on the shoulders of Ard, Ireena, and a small group handpicked for them in The Greatest Demon Lord Is Reborn as a Typical Nobody Episode 7. Talk about an obvious plot!

All that Shijou Saikyou no Daimaou Murabito A ni Tensei suru Episode 7 can do is support the fact that this show is a prime example of poor writing. The story makes no sense. The “typical nobody” boy (Ard) is being called out on the grand stage as one of the most influential people, right alongside the secret princess and the heavenly king who served the demon lord and who is also a professor. I want to say the villains keep lurking in the shadow, but we know what happened the last time. Ard keeps revealing his true powers “by accident”, especially when many eyes are watching him.

The list does not stop there. Even other than the main plot, the animation is also terrible. A lot of the budget seems to have been spent on the close-up, good shots of Ginny. But the rest of the episode suffered. The background characters do not move for minutes when the main character is conversing, and the fight scenes (if you want to call the swords shaking as the anticipated fight) were nothing more than swords shaking and vibrating slowly.

The only thing Shijou Saikyou no Daimaou Murabito A ni Tensei suru is consistent on is Ginny and the harem scenes around her. Even this is executed in an okay fashion, nothing impressive. Though, in all honesty, maid cafe scenes were a bit decent. This episode was such a drag due to the lazy writing that the only memorable scenes I can say are the gag comedy scenes and the talk with the old character.

Prognosis

The Greatest Demon Lord Is Reborn as a Typical Nobody Episode 7 was another disappointment in this series. From the plot trying to ignite 10 different emotions and failing almost all of them to the poor characters and terrible animations, things seemed lazy most of the time.
