Takt Op Destiny Episode 2 Overview

Takt Op Destiny is a collaboration project by two of the biggest studios currently operating in the anime industry, Madhouse and MAPPA. Studio Madhouse is known for creating several classics such as HunterxHunter, Death Note, and the recent Sonny Boy. Meanwhile, Studio MAPPA holds the entire industry’s attention in the palm of its hands with behemoths such as Jujutsu Kaisen and Attack on Titan under its development wing.

Takt Op Destiny is a multi-media project between Bandai Namco Arts and DeNA, which comprises a mobile game and this anime series we are talking about. Takt Op Destiny Episode 2 Review- The Plot

After enticing the viewers with what the series could be, the show took the viewers back to how it used to be in Takt Op Destiny Episode 2. It is a manner of storytelling not too unfamiliar to anime fans, but it is a good one regardless. It allows for intrigue to be built up during the first episode to make people keep watching the show while answering the questions people wanted answers to without wasting much time.

We got to know the backgrounds of all the main characters alongside learning more about the state of the world in the anime. What we saw was a heartwarming and sweet tale of three orphans trying to survive together while the world around them went to hell and finding ways to stay positive during that time. Music was the one thing they had that helped them during those tough times, and music is what gets people killed in that universe.

Needless to say, things didn’t go well for our protagonists. However, the small portion of the life we did witness the characters living was very warm and homely, which was nice to see. It was nice to observe the calm before the storm while knowing that everything could go sour at any given moment. Takt Op Destiny Episode 2 was a particularly well-placed episode of the show, even though there have only been two episodes so far. C’est la vie.

Takt Op Destiny Episode 2 Review- The Characters

How heartwrenching is it to like the character of Cossette in Takt Op Destiny Episode 2 immensely and admiring how well she was written, all while knowing the fact that she doesn’t remain the same character after the events of Takt Op Destiny Episode 2? Surely, it was more tragic for Takt and Cossette’s sister Anna, which in turn injects the plot of Takt Op Destiny with even more stakes than just getting rid of the D2.

The character developments in this episode were immense in their impact, changing how one looks at Takt and Cossette in the future. The tone of this episode was also slightly different from the last, making Episode 2 a lot heavier than Episode 1. That’s not a bad thing by any means, just an observation.

Takt Op Destiny Episode 2 Review- Art and Music

Since this episode takes place before the previous, the contrasting red and pale art doesn’t happen here until the very end of the episode. Its arrival was a bittersweet moment, signifying the establishment of the core power dynamic between the main characters, all while noting the end of their previous one. Outside of that, the episode looked like a particularly well-animated slice of life anime, which is a huge compliment considering slice of life anime are frequently the best animated of the entire lot.

The music is the heart and soul of this show, and Takt Op Destiny Episode 2 was certainly not lacking in it. The renditions of a few classical in the show were very well done, including being animated to the actual rhythm of the song. It’s a shame I don’t know anything about music, but you don’t need to know anything to enjoy this show. I’m a living and breathing example that being tone-deaf doesn’t cause you to appreciate art any less.

Verdict

Takt Op Destiny Episode 2 was a perfect way to follow the superb first episode and provided enough thrills and character moments to keep the viewers enticed throughout the entire season. Can’t wait to see which direction the story heads next!
