An Amphibia Easter Egg In The Owl House Hints at a Connected Disney Universe

Amphibia and The Owl House are two of my favorite cartoons on Disney+ right now. With just the right amount of whimsy, comedy, and emotional depth, both of these animated series’ have a lot to offer. So imagine my surprise when I start watching The Owl House season 2 and find a little Amphibia Easter egg hidden right there in plain site.

If there’s any possibility that a show like The Owl House can be connected to another current Disney cartoon, Amphibia is the most likely candidate. Lets take a look at the Easter egg and speculate on potential connections.

The Amphibia Easter Egg in The Owl House

Easter Egg of Hop Pop on on a Book

In The Owl House season 2 episode 2, you can clearly see a picture of Hop Pop on a book held by one of Willow’s dads. While this doesn’t necessarily mean that the two shows are within the same universe, it does make a lot a of sense. In both cartoons, the main character is sent to another world with entirely different characters and species. This also isn’t the only Easter egg we’ve seen between both series.

One Big Animated Disney Universe?

Although this Amphibia Easter egg is the first one I happened to stumble upon, it turns out this isn’t the only connection there’s been. Considering one of the main people involved in The Owl House is Alex Hirsch, it’s no surprise that a show like Gravity Falls would also be connecting back to this universe. In fact, there’s an entire Reddit thread that already details the many connections between Gravity Falls and The Owl House found in the graphic novel.

Is Star vs. The Forces of Evil Also Connected?

Although it seems there are some clear connections between Amphibia, The Owl House, and Gravity Falls, does that also mean that Star vs. The Forces of Evil could be within the same universe? Disney has a tendency to connect their movies together, so it would be no surprise if this was true. There is even a thread about Easter eggs found between all of these shows that could show a connection.

Amphibia, The Owl House, Gravity Falls, and Star vs. The Forces of Evil

Although it doesn’t seem that these different cartoons have directly affected each other in any truly meaningful way, there’s enough evidence to suggest that they do all take place in the same universe. Not only did we learn in each of these shows that there were portals to other places beyond earth, we also learned that time moves differently depending on the realm the characters are in. In Star vs The Forces of Evil, Marco is trapped in another world and grows into an adult in the short span of a single episode. This would suggest that each of these cartoon worlds could be connected but be completely different timelines.
