Killing Eve ended the case in the brutal form in his previous two-section finals: Eve (Sandra Oh) stabbed Villanelle (Jodie Comer) in the bowl the first year and Villanelle, an international assassin, shot Eve back to the bottom at the end of the second.

The BBC America thriller’s third final involves various twists, turns, and three main fatalities: Dasha (Harriet Walter), killed on three separate occasions with an actual three-twin-two punch from Villanelle and Eve and even Konstantin (Kim Bodnia); Rhian (Alexandra Roach), the novice murderer who dies whispering under a speed train.

Throughout comparison with the probable death blow in the final scene, however, violence is waning in the future of the series: Eve and Villanelle decided to take back each other once and for all and go away together on the London Bridge. Except that both ladies find that they cannot walk away, not completely, in the final moments of the season. Both of them turn around and continue to cross a bridge. Whatever the future holds in season 4, both Eve and Villanelle are inevitably drawn into their mutual vortex. A destiny that could prove more deadly than their past knife and bullet wounds.

Which Killing Eve character are you?

“Are you leading or am I?” offers a lot of fan services particularly for those waiting for Eve (Sandra Oh) and Villanelle to be shipped (Jodie Comer). If I said that I hadn’t waited for them ultimately to be together. I would be a liar, even if only to observe a new dynamic. This, however, was the first season’s beauty, a 1:1 opposite of the romantic against the criminal. Even with a second season unprecedented, Eve reflected in the final, stabbing Villanelle and Villanelle and shooting Eve. It ends violently each time you get the chance to be together. Thus their first encounter in the third season concludes with a public bus struggle. They were excited to meet again, however, it had about the same intensity as running into a grocery coworker. This may be the irony of the episode’s title, as the show doesn’t even know what the characters desire.

What was it at the end of this season? She didn’t want a monster anymore, Villanelle realizes? Do her perceived childhood trauma and her sentiments for her alienated mother come into contact? I think that the death of her mother’s goal was to demonstrate the death of Villanelle and that Oksana alone remained, but we do not witness any genuine change in Villanelle, save from the emotional contemplation on the train.

Although she promises she won’t kill, she keeps on doing that. Even the death of her mother-substitute Dasha does not appear to be too high. A character who could claim had more a role than her own mother in Villanelle’s creation. The past wasn’t given the priority it deserved if it were to murder your past so that you may have a future.

About the quiz

One of the nice things about Killing Eve is that it promotes a new writer for the show in every scene. This means not only that the program functions as a kind of incubator, which allows women to show themselves, but also creates a system where the previous writer dares the next head writer to meet his cliffhanger last season.

Season 2 head writer Emerald Fennell concluded the season last season, shooting Eve in Rome, leaving the scene to death, and Season 3 head writer Suzanne Heathcote took charge of recreating the scene in the third season. In this year’s Season, 4 head writer Laura Neal (who has written two episodes from the three seasons) is leaving Heathcote with the fantastic challenge of the Season 3 cliffhanger resolution.

I remark in this context. The next chapter in Eve and Villanelle’s stories may not have been resolved. But in that closing scene, there are still many substantial pieces that suggest what might be next. Eve seems more than ever to accept Villanelle’s interest. Moreover, she appears open to leaning into Villanelle, who agrees that the thought of murdering Dasha ‘together’ is beautiful and says to Villanelle, ‘I believe my monster desired [the monster that promotes it].’ This’s a long way from the way Villanelle handled Eve last season to kill Raymond and how Eve and Villanelle felt about him in the following years.
