5 Highlights From Wizkid’s Tottenham Stadium Show

Over the weekend, history was made in the United Kingdom as Wizkid achieved a feat untouched by any African.

He sold out the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, a 62,000-capacity venue, making him the first African artiste to do so. The show was absolutely phenomenal, attracting a huge influx of fans from all over the world. Here are five highlights from the show.

1. Set design:

We have to give huge kudos to Wizkid’s team for the great work they did on the set design for the stadium show. From the stage setting and design to the outfits and every other detail, the show was finessed to perfection. This gave a significant boost to the overall success of the show.

2. Attendance:

The show pulled massive crowds from all around the world. The total number of attendees is still unconfirmed, but there were numerous celebrities in attendance. For starters, football stars Eddie Nketiah, Bukayo Saka, and Alex Iwobi were there, and they were spotted in videos exchanging pleasantries with Wizkid backstage. Popular actress Letitia Wright was also present, alongside numerous big names in the music business from Nigeria and the diaspora, such as Ms. Banks, DJ Tunez, L.A.X, Seyi Vibez, and many others.

3. Guest Artistes:

Wizkid had an army of supporting acts with him for the show. Numerous musical maestros from around the world performed on the big stage. Artistes such as Masego, Nigerian legend Wande Coal, DJ Tunez, King Promise, The Cavemen, DJ Tunez, DJ Maphorisa, and others graced the stage, giving the audience a memorable time.

4. Wizkid’s performance:

The main attraction of the show, the man everyone came to see, Wizkid was wonderful in his performance. He serenaded the audience with a swell time on his set. With classics, both old and new, from his More Love Less Ego album, he vibed with the crowd in perfect sync. Although there were some complaints about the short length of his performance and various technical issues, it was a success in general.

5. Reviews:

Reviews of the show were mixed, but for the most part, they were positive, showing that the attendees had a good time. A few complaints were raised about the short length of Wizkid’s performance, which was allegedly 45 minutes. This flaw has yet to be explained by him or his team. However, the show was still a success overall.

Greatness was experienced on that day that would go down in the annals of Afrobeats, and most definitely more is on the way.
