In order to curb level boosting in WoW Shadowlands, the user-defined group search will probably only be activated from LvL 50. This is what players noticed on the test server. This change would be implemented when the PTR started. However, that would also have some disadvantages.
It looks like the custom group search in WoW Shadowlands is only activated from level 50 (the equivalent of level 120 after the level squish). This change has already been implemented on the PTR. The developers have not yet given a reason. So there is still hope that this change will not be implemented. Because even if you use it to prevent level boosting, you tend to cause more damage.
The activation of the user-defined group search via the search tool from level 50 would mean that players under level 50 would not be able to create a group for, for example, tricky quests, rare or elite mobs and only target players in the vicinity or the general chat would be dependent in the respective area. That would be in the spirit of an MMO, but many players have meanwhile got used to finding players for these tasks in the group search – mostly made easier by the appropriate add-ons.
Thereby, for example, the completion of the so-called arena quests like The champion of agony difficult, which grant a lot of experience in a short time. But not only characters during the level phase would be affected, but also, for example, players looking for rare mobs, RP events or low-level raids for successes.
