The Colors of Sorbetes

To state the obvious, something that everyone here knows and feels: IT IS SO HOT! SUPER INIT! Then I saw this video clip made by colleagues here at Boysen, so I immediately pushed back a scheduled post because I wanted to share it. The latest from Color Wanderer is this short entitled “Chillin’ in Kyusi.”

The Color Wanderer series is an invitation to get your color inspiration from your surroundings. Maybe it’s the special feeling you get in a place you are in that will inspire you to explore the Colors around you. Definitely, for this Ice Cream treat, I got inspired enough to imagine the coolness during these sizzling hot days…and stopped whingeing for a short (very short) while about how hot it is. Now, I’m back to it, of course, even if I opt to stay indoors most of the time.

Pastel Colors of Sorbetes

Here’s a new word for you—tintinnabulation. Simply put, it’s the ringing or tinkling of a bell. That’s what announces that the local Ice Cream Cart is nearby.

When Mamang Sorbetero opens his cart, you get to see the wonderful array of yummy pastels. But we can’t have it all, can we? On the other hand, why not, right?

For this video, the three winning hues are a delicious cream (Apple Sauce BCP-0866), sunshine yellow (Peeps BCP-0857), and the tartness of a light lime green (Green Gone Wild BCP-0774).

You can opt to use all colors in one space. They do go together. These colors can lift the mood in the room, and give it a light and fresh feel. They can reinvigorate your senses, even when you feel that you are already wilting from the heat and humidity. Clean and punchy, the ambience can help you take on your day.

For the gif below, we’ve chosen to use one color for the wall each time so you can see the options clearly.

When you see an ice cream cart, ask Manong to show you the flavors. Do buy from him…it is hot work to go around selling that ice cream. Not only will you get color inspiration from sorbetes, you will also help a kababayan. And most importantly, you’ll get your cool sugar rush, something we all need during these hot days.

If you’re ready to try out new paint colors in your home, visit The Color Library near IKEA in MOA or any of the Boysen Mix and Match stations (click here for the list of locations).
